So Juventus officially now, and by tomorrow Fiorentina and AC Milan, will be sent down to Serie B in Italy. For cheating.
It's not an exact analogy b/c soccer clubs don't work in a farm system, but essentially this is like the New York Yankess, Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers being caught up in a game-fixing schedule, and having to play at the AAA level next year, only getting to come back up to the Majors the year after if they win their conferences.
Oh, and they lose the fan #'s, the TV contracts b/c nobody cares about AAA games, etc.
I'm glad Italy dropped the hammer though; that league was becoming a laughing-stock for all the cheating going on.
