does anyone else think that online poker is rigged? i am not sure if i am the only one who notices when someone first does a deposit that they go on this huge rush (it happens everytime to my friends when they first deposit) and then after a couple of days it just goes right down the drain and then all these incredible beats start to happen? i recently tried stopping for 2 weeks on party poker and when i came back i went on a rush. then after about 3 days nothing was going my way, i mean NOTHING. one example: (in 2-4 limit) i have AK i raise preflop and the board comes down AA7, it gets capped on the flop (w/3 people invovled including myself) the turn is a 4 and river is a 5. someone beats me with 23. this was one of many many hands where something like this would happen after the initial rush. does this happen to anyone else?

No.

I could post a more detailed response, but that would be a waste of yours and infinitely worse, my time

Of course its rigged. You think they want all the skilled players to keep taking all the donks money so they never come back? All they care about is rake..rake=profit Less players, less rake, less profit. So thats why they let the donks win. I could go more into this, but I dont want to waste all the nonbelievers time icon_hand.gif

lol. Its an opinion I have, and opinions are like assholes. I dont go around trying to make a point of it. This dude just asked for our opinion and I gave it to him. Of course its one of those opinions that doesnt have any proof so it doesnt mean anything.

My last sentence about the nonbelievers was an attempt at sarcasm so no one would take it tooo seriously smile.gif

Alright maybe I am just paranoid but this has happened to all my friends and happened to me 3 times after I thought it was going on (I would quit and come back after a break) and after I would come back I would get really good cards but after a couple of days it would all go down hill. I would feel better if I had started on a losing session but I have never started on a losing session I always have a couple of winning ones and then losing ones, it just seems to weird. But maybe that’s just me
Stylin_Fish
Only a complete moron would say that online poker is rigged. They are missing the fact that ALL poker is rigged.

Poker+Donks+Variance=RIGGED

Come on people, it's simple math.

here's an idea.... cash out... wait 2 weeks... deposit... play for 2 days... cash every thing out... wait 2 weeks... etc... etc...

according to you, you would never lose
roadhawg
yeah i did that for a while but i got to greedy thinking i would never lose if i just played more. it worked while i did it. there is something weird about online i just cant figure it out, even daniel has trouble online.

It's not hard to see what's happening if you read your post. What happens is that when you first deposit, you are less likely to take risks because you're trying to have good hands so that you don't blow your deposit.

Then when you start making decent money, you take more risks because you don't feel like you have anything to lose since you've profited. Then you lose and you go on tilt, and you blow through your deposit.

i am just wondering whats wrong with online, he is up 1.2 mil in live play but down 200,000 in online. my results are the same (given the numbers arent nearly as high), i do well in casinos but online somehting happens and it feels like i am playing break even poker.

That does seem like a reasonable explanation but I am not just talking about me. my friend (who I think is a bad player and his results show it for the most part) did a deposit twice on PP and both times he did some crazy **** but would then end up losing it after a couple of days. He turned 100 into 750 in 2 days then lost it all. And the other time he put in 200 turned it into 1350, and then lost it all. I started to notice the online thing when that happened to him, cause I would watch him and he would call on long shot draws and hit but after a while it caught up to him. it never happened the other way around either where he would call on long shots and miss but then a couple of days later he would hit those long shots, he always hit the long shot draws within 2 days of deposit. Now that I have calmed down I think I am just paranoid.
FatBurger
I deposited $100 on Party Poker and lost it all in 1 hour. I have a friend who deposited $4 million and lost it all in one hand. So it's obviously not rigged.

thanks for everyone who actually put thought and effort into their posts and not posting something like BROCCOLI. i was just steaming after coming off a really bad lsoing session and thought it was rigged because i went into the game with the mindset of it was rigged. i guess i got to just keep playing and see what happens but for now i am going to the casino

it is not rigged it is called poker

you stay in on a long shot and hit it and it's okay !!!

someone stays in on a long shot and hits it against you and it's not okay !!!

it's called poker, if you play smart ALL the time, you will win in the long run.

if you want to say that poker is rigged then all poker is rigged, oh and by the way we don't say rigged anymore we say BROCCOLI (it sounds better smile.gif)

here is an example of something that happened to me in Vegas (Live ring game)

I turn the straight and raise it up, guy calls without correct odds and rivers a full house against me. He is holding AA and A hits 5th street.

same guy, very next hand, I flop trip 9s with K kicker, raise it up and he stays in to hit his 4 on the river, yup he was holding pocket 4s

this has been said so many times but I will say it once more. it seems like online poker is broccoli because you see probably 5 times more hand than live.
which means beats are going to happen 5 times more frequently.

it boils down to this I think ... you win a couple pots and then you think you are invincible and chase too much, I also think that you are playing way too many hands and staying in with them when you hit a small piece of the flop.

read SSHE and then tell me that poker is broccoli

lastly, say hi to Nemo for me biggrin.gif

If you go on a rush.. why wouldn't you think it's possible to go on an "anti-rush"? its variance, nuff said
roadhawg
ty for the answers. i have read SSHE and i think that is another reason teh beats hurt so bad. because when i am in there i normally have a really good hand and when i get beat it just sucks even more.

Variance + tilt = I think this site is rigged.

You're wrong though, it's not.

hmmms lets think about this logically

poker industry is makin around 12 billion dollars yearly and this is growing

these sites are publically traded on stock markets in europe

The majority of the market is owned by a relatively few sites

Do you really think they are gonna risk losing billions by rigging a site?

and why are you mad that people make idiotic calls and and suck out? means they will pay you back later

ps not even aces hold up every time
