This occured at a .25-.50 NLHE table. I'm at the cutoff position and am dealt A 7 . The table is 6 handed. EP limps. It's folded to me and I raise it to $2.00. BB calls as well as original limper. Pot is $6.25.

Flop is 2 7 J .

BB bets $2 (Holds nearly $45). It's folded to me. I call (Sitting with nearly $75). Pot is $10.75.

Turn: K .

BB checks. Sensing BB has a only a pair of Jacks and trying to get him off the hand, I bet $5, to represent the King. BB calls. Possibly has JQ or J10. Pot is $20.

River: 4 .

BB checks yet again. I feel I have to bet to win the pot here. I bet $15.

The previous action that led up to this point is all read dependent. For example, I simply put the BB on a Jack with a weak kicker. The bet on the flop is small, so sensing weakness, instead of raising I opt to call, hoping for a scare card on the turn or to possibly to improve. When the King came I tried to represent it. And on the river I followed through with it. These are my thoughts during the hand. Maybe you play this hand differently, but as is, what's your move on the river? Is this a reasonable bet? What range of hands do you put my opponent on? I'll post results in due time.

You have to bet this river. I don't see you winning this pot by checking, but you can win if you bet and they fold.

I see them holding a weak J (J-10, Q-J), or is slowplaying a huge hand.

Normally I'm raising or folding this flop (read dependent). It's not the only way to play it, but it is easier.

Raising or callin this flop are both fine IMO.

The turn raise has to be alittle stronger. 7-10.

River is a bet as well for me usually.

The most important question is "can he lay down jacks?"

At this level I run into too many people who will call ANY river bet with 2nd pair, even if he's pretty sure you have the top pair.

You may have to push to have any hope of getting him to fold.

This is definitily my line of thinking from now on. I say this because after I made the river bet, my opponent called fairly quickly with Q J . I'm thinking a more aggressive bet on the turn and possibly an all in on the river may be the best chance to get a fold. I thought I would share this hand because even when you have a correct read, it may not work out in the end despite your best efforts. I usually overestimate these low limit no limit online players anyways. I've been accustomed to playing with calling stations, so I may need to change my approach at these tables.

like someone said before, after he flops top pair and the K comes out on the turn, most LL tables wont fold to a raise

Nope. There is a reason why the massive overbet is such a succesfull play at those takes.

I like your read and your play. Just make sure you are against a player capable of folding.

Thats why bluffing is -EV in Micro Limit NLHE. Have patience, bet your best hands, that will win you money.
