Is there ANY purpose to a min raise.... ever.... if so in what circumstances would it be used and for what reason?
Lawballer
For the most part no. I do not know how to use it. I will caution you though that the inexperienced and sometimes very experienced will use the minraise with a MONSTER AHND to try and get you to put more money in preflop or post flop.... I had a situation where I bet $5 got raised to 10... reraised for another 40 with Top 2 pair.... got called by bottom set and got stacked... Several things like this have happened. But always beware the minraise. I use it very rarely... Just to throw people off. I usually end up wining more money against fish. If they have a marginal hand....

Absolutely. I love to consistently min-raise into aggressives. It stimulates their over-bet gland. In fact, I'll min-raise into them with nothing and fold a couple times to condition them. Then I hit a hand and double up on them.

EDIT: min-raise is a "multi-hand" strategy. It is ineffective in a single hand.

That play drives me crazy.
I hope you get outdrawn everytime by flushes and straight draws and when you do it wil be because of your mistake.
