Any toughts?
Gotta like my man Philly Mick's first day, although I know you can't win it, you can only lose it, on day 1.
I think Tiger is just not ready yet. He could eat up either Royal Liverpool for the Open and/or Medinah for the PGA. I have been lucky to play both places and he could dominate there.
I don't see an "unknown" winning.

Tiger looked terrible today, and phil was struggling but not to bad. Stricker had some sick bunker shots to save his ***, but i dont see anybody but a big name winning it too.

Phil is in good position to win it, but he hasnt really played well at all from the tee. I've been watching bits and peices of the coverage and dont remember one time I saw him hit a drive into the fairway. Thats not good. He's still probably the best "scrambler" in the world right now though. He has been amazing in that aspect the first 2 rounds

Well, Mickelson and a relative unknown are in the best position to take it down tomorrow. Singh, Harrington, Monty and Weir are still in the hunt, but it will take a decent collapse from the final pairing coupled with a 68-69ish round for them to have much of a shot.
Given how tough Winged Foot is playing, the co-leaders putting up a 74 or 75 tomorrow certainly isn't out of the question. Still, Phil looks like he's in good shape.

With the pins they'll be putting up there tomorrow, I'd be surprised if the tournament winner shoots better than 4 over. The course is very tough, as visible by the fact that none of the best golfers in the world can break par there.

Yeah, I'm always rootin for Phil. I think if either of the leaders shoots 72 today they'll win.

I'm a big Phil fan and all, but he completely screwed up an opportunity today. His play on 18, after struggling with the driver all day, was simply atrocious.

Ditto, he needs to learn how to pull up sometimes and take a 3 wood or 2 iron out.

That was vintage Phil right there. He would always get in trouble by trying to do too much in the past. He did it again there. He could've very easily made a par by going 3 wood-6 iron to the front of the green, then up and down for par, similar to how Ogilvy made par on the last. Instead, he decided to go for it all, which I don't get.

Lefty didn't have a 3 wood in his bag. Maybe he should carry one at the British.
