Recently I have been spending a majority of time playing online poker, which is something I dont normally do. Whats up with all the suck outs. I see so many 2 outers its sick. Im assuming it has to do with seeing more hands, but I sure do see a lot of big hands against each other on cash games(ex. KK or AK vs. AA) way too much. I guess its something you have to get used to but sometimes it doesnt seem like real poker, in most mtts the blinds go up so rapidly that it becomes a luck game rather than skill. Im amazed online poker is this big.
don your flame-retardant suit, sir.
really, though, you're probably just remembering the beats because they're more striking to you than a 3-outer not hitting. it happens to all of us, but keep your mind around the fact that a 16% shot, while it does hit sometimes, is and remains only 16%.
and re: MTTs, well, they are a bit more of a crapshoot than we'd like them to be (if i had my way, we'd have 30 minute levels in all MTTs, but not bloody likely), but they're still very, very beatable in the long run.
