i can't convert from nothing, so here goes. i wasn't in the hand, but the guy who won the hand is a huge fish in this game. he makes enough money that he doesn't care about losing it andrebuying, and he's an awful player. this tourney usually has prize pools of over $2000 among about 22 players.
at this point, he'd already cracked my KK and JJ twice with the same hand--A4(!)--all in preflop. weeks earlier, he'd also sucked out on my in another huge pot that surely cost me leader points and tourney money. he is my nemesis.
i'll just cut to the chase. all the money went in after this flop:
8-7-3
hero: 77
villian: 89
turn: 3
river: 8
the calculator says villian was ~6.5% to win when they got it in. after it was over, i said to him in awe (to the table's delight), "good christ. that's at least three times tonight. how does it feel to be able to suck out at will like that?"
donkalicious!
