I probably shoulda kept raising with him here just in case right? since the rake is already capped and all...

3rd street: call looks fine

4th: i like a check here.

5th: we're pumping here for sure.

6th: cap is good.

7th: pump it. you're in a fair position to scoop the pot, albeit not a great position. but still, a good enough chance that you pump here anyway. like you said on 6th, you're freerolling here, and the rake is capped now.

i do guess villain had a flush?

I think you could have checked on fourth, and then just called. You want to hit your opponent(s) for the big bet coming on 5th, so don't alert them to your good hand here. by checking, they will think you didnt catch good (probably paired up).

7th you bet until the cows come home.

What did you catch on 7th? Unless you caught your straight, I see no reason to cap 7th. You have 0 chance for the high. Your opponent probably has a flush. Even if they were going for low and don't have a pair, their A-k beats your A-Q for the high.

I'm not sure about capping 6th unless the rake was maxed after 5th street. Capping it heads up when you're more than likely going to split the pot will cost you. You're drawing thin for the high at best and more than likely drawing dead. I don't see your opponent capping 6th w/o a 2-way hand. All you'll be doing is feeding the rake and costing yourself money.

Most sites have a cap on teh rake, so I don't see this costing you any more money by capping. You are freerolling for the scoop, as you have half wrapped up. ALWAYS cap in these spots, no matter how slim your chances of scooping may seem, when you are freerolling.

Check out the hand below for a fairly good but not great (IMO) example of why to cap here, only difference is the cap is on 6th not 7th (sorry, no converter, but its worth the read):

Despite my opponents board appearing like he is the one freerolling, AND despite the possibility of my hand not being the best by the river, I ended up scooping this pot, which I certainly did not expect, but will gladly take.
