Full Version: Controlling The Table

So last night while doing and assignment for uni I had a game going in the background and decided to try something.

Play any ace, and two face, any conectors, any Kx suited as long as there was no raise, play all top 2 levels to a raise and only min raise with top 2 levels

If I hit anything on the flop I would bet (min) and if I had a draw I would call unless it was a crazy bet, would min raise a flop if I thought I had the nuts

I showed down some pretty big hands to 3 min bets, trips, flushes, KK, AA, and nut straights

After a while the whole table changed, raises were very few and far between and I could get 3 people to lay down to a min bet. I could call all ins with the nuts and almost any raise from any position would fold the table

I was suprise how many times my pair of 3's would win against 3 opponents and actually built up a pretty good stack, got suked out on a couple time where I tripped the flop and lost to a straight or a flush, but at the most it was only for a couple bets.

After a while I changed up my play and started stealing with air and draws with very little risk (one bet)

Just thought it was an interesting experiment to try, I took a whole table from LAG to weak tight in about 20 hands. In essense I built up a huge amount of respect for any bet or raise and controlled the table with very little money.

Thoughts?

I hope it was shorthanded. Read breaking the rock if you're gonna play like this.

It was, and not that I will play like this, too much like limit imo, but it was very interesting to see how much it changed the play of everyone else

I think you will encounter problems when you dont get any decent hands to show down with those first 20 hands.
Sounds like you got hit by the upside of variance if you managed to show down trips, flushes, KK, AA and straights all within 20 hands.
