Middle position is half-stacked. No real read on him, not many hands in PT.

I'm dealt K icon_suit_diamond.gif 5 icon_suit_diamond.gif

Mid position limps, button, CO and SB also limp.

Flop comes A icon_suit_diamond.gif 4 icon_suit_club.gif Q icon_suit_diamond.gif

Checks through

Turn: 9 icon_suit_diamond.gif

I fire pot-sized, Mid position calls

River: Q icon_suit_club.gif

I fire out 3/4 the pot, mid position min-raises.

I tank... obviously I'm going to call at least, but I'm thinking about extraction.

There currently is not much money in the pot and I am confident I have the best hand. Obviously I didn't want to see that river, but none-the-less the villain has shown no aggression. Generally, a set is going to protect against a 2-suited flop, same with 2 pair. AQ is an extremely playable hand, but usually someone would open-raise pre-flop and would bet to protect on the flop.

I put villain all-in (he's half stacked).

Good, bad, ugly?

Half stacked this is definately a push. Deeper stacked not sure. My river aggression sucks anyway, any thoughts on what to do with say, 150bbs?
screech
seems good on the river. he most likely has trips and won't fold.

i think you should fire a 1/2 pot size bet out on the flop. this will make it easier for you to increase yuor impied odds when you hit, while also serving as a semibluff.

I'm kinda curious as to what MP would call a pot sized raise with on the turn since he checked the flop.

I agree with screech that you should bet 1/2 the pot on the river here. Hopefully hes not holding Q9 or holds a donked up AQ.
fckthis
I think its a good push. Unless he slow played the crap out of you.

My general line is to bet that flop. Can't remember why I didn't to be honest it's been so long. I am an aggressive player and I like to bring people in and build a pot here, it makes my pay off larger. I think I may have refrained from betting due to position, but that usually doesn't stop me.

I don't think I would have posted this if I didn't lose the hand =P, but I am glad there is a consensus that I played it correctly, as I thought I did. Pushing all-in on the river only to get beat gives me that sick feeling in my stomach knowing that I literally just gave away money.

Villain had AQ.

Wow villian played that hand horribly, tough luck.

What do you think calls your bet that you beat?

Smaller flush...possibly/probably.

Qx - probably.

Top pair...borderline.

Anything else?

Yeah, I think there are enough hands to make a raise here right.

If you're beat he really played AQ or a set of 4's questionably....a set of 9's I think was played OK here.
