Hey guys,
This was my second MTT, and I am still trying to get a grasp for how to play these things. Here is the hand I need help with.

FT 10+1 deepstack
Blinds 200, 400, ante 50
My stack, 29,000 (M approximately 30)
Villian 36,000
Places paid: 54, 94 people left

Background: villian is very TAG, and does not let a hand go easily. However he has been caught bluffing in the past.

I'm in the small blind, villian opens for 2,500 in middle position. I smooth call, figuring if nothing flops i lose the minimum, and if i flop something I can definetley trap this aggressive opponent.

Flop: 9h 8h 5 club
I check, villian bets 5,000, I reraise all in.

My logic is that if he has a pair I am a favorite (2 overs and a flushdraw), and coupled with the fold equity, I defintely can make money from this play. Question is, do I take the edge I have and push it, looking to win this monster pot and get deep in the MTT, or do I dump the hand and conserve. Thank I really appreciate your help.

Opponent Calls and shows QQ
Turn and river are blanks, I'm outta here.

I think you answered your own question

You missed your draw, he wasn't folding
fckthis
Does he have AK hearts?

sorry about that I have AK hearts
Anyway do you think the push here is a mistake? I did the calcualtion on pokerstove with a pretty tight range of hands for the villian, and still found the play to have a positive EV of about 3800. I just don't know if I should an edge so hard when I am fine chip wise.
