I don't want to call them the losing team because this match could have gone either way. It started out very slow, as I heard he is very aggressive and decided to play very small pots early and see what he would do. Czario apparently wasnt getting any cards as he wouldn't make any moves early and all the early pots were extremely small.

I then decided to tune up the aggression and raise every button, but he started wearing me down. I tried to trap him several times, but he wouldn't bite. Eventually, I had top pair, weak kicker on the flop and bet out. He min-raised me which I felt was a draw, so I moved in. He decided to gamble with a flush draw and a gutshot. I was only 52/48, but it held up and I was back in the lead.

I got him down but not out. He hit a 2-outer on the river and value bet me, which I went for. I got a good lead again, but he rivered me again and came back to retake the lead. I kept coming at him, made a few key bluffs and had a decent lead going in to the final 2 hands.

I raised as usual from my button with Q5. Flop is KKT, and I decided to trap-bluff. I had been slowplaying trips several times, so I decided to do it without the trips. We checked the flop. 4 came on turn, he bet small, I called. River came another 4, he bet small again, I raised, he mucked. Then in the BB, I get 44. He limped, I checked. Flop was 752, with 2 diamonds. I bet, he raise, I called. Turn was a 3, giving me a straight draw with my pair. I pushed and he called with 86 of diamonds (straight and flush draw). River paired the board and it was finally over.

Very good match Slosh, you deserved it. In retrospect I'm not sure I should have called on the last hand because I knew I needed to improve. I lost my best chance of the match on the hand below. For some reason I feared you had AK, but checking in this situation was inexcusable. Good luck to the CC Riders the rest of the way.

I can feel you there, but the check is understandable. You have every reason to believe that a guy who makes a big reraise preflop will bet on that flop if checked to. I respected your play a lot and felt like my best chance was to completely mix it up and give you no chance to put me on a hand. I got the feeling that you never knew where I was at and I was hoping you would guess wrong one key time. The only thing I really did to give me an edge is make sure the pots were bigger when I was in position than when you had the button. Several times I had hands I would normally reraise from the blind, but I didn't want you in position for a big pot, so i just called, and obviously I was sometimes raising with trash from the button. From what I had heard, I expected you to be too agreesive and I was waiting for you to hang yourself, but you never did. Good game, and good luck the rest of the season.
