NL texas, $0.5/$1 cash game. Im second to act after BB, first to act after BB limps in, i put a raise of $5 as i have pocket Q's. Every 1 folds to the BB who calls. The limper also calls. The flops comes something like 3 icon_suit_heart.gif , 8 icon_suit_heart.gif , and 2 icon_suit_spade.gif . BB checks and the limper now goes all in $14, i still have about $25 and i call. BB also calls. The turns comes another icon_suit_heart.gif which ends up giving limper the flush and he takes the pot. Should i have called? I've been playing at the table for some time and put the limper with a lower hand then mine, he limped in which made me think he didnt really haver a strong hand. He had K4 icon_suit_heart.gif. The BB had poket J's.

Depends on what you have.

Without knowing what you have, there is no way to say.

You're getting about 2 to 1 on your call and the limper is all-in. I think that I would have called since you have top pair. Of course, I'm biased now since I know what he had.

I actually like the threads where the opponent's cards are hidden and then revealed after everyone has given their input on what the correct play was.

Now that I know you were holding pocket Q's, I think I would have called. you couldn't have asked for a much better flop for your pair (besides the 2 hearts obviously) so when he makes that bad move to go all-in, you should call it.

Gotta call that. Not sure how many people would have the balls to limp then just call a raise with 2 people in if he had KK or AA. When first reading, trips popped into my mind, but it's still an easy call when you're getting 2:1 on your money. Only real worrysome thing is the bb still to act, but without being there, I can safely say he didn't have a hand =) And knowing he was on the flush draw only (with 1 overcard), you were well within the pot odds to call, he just played like a fool and got lucky, it happens.
