I moved to Raleigh about 6 months ago - and I found this awesome summer concert series. It is every 2 weeks all summer (starts tonight). Best of all, it is 100% free. The bands aren't a bunch of worthless no names either. Tonight Days of the New and Lit kick it off - I'm pretty excited for Lit. Other bands this summer include Gin Blossoms, Spin Doctors, Candlebox...this is pretty decent!

Check it out...

Does anyone else have this kind of good stuff in their hometown area? Are they good bands or crappy? In New York we had the occasional excellent free concert in central park like Dave Matthews or something, but it isn't the same with 2.1 million people in a field when you can barely see the stage.

Thats even better, you get to see the bands people are paying to see! On the other hand, you also have to see the bands that make you want to shoot yourself in the face too.

I thought the Spin Doctors went split after their lead singer died...awesome stuff man.

Have you caught any 'Canes games?

I love Candlebox. Sounds like a fun time.

On a mostly unrelated note, I'm seeing Saliva, Modern Day Zero, Hinder, Tantric and 2 other bands for $5 tomorrow. I'm a huge Tantric fan, and my brother loves MDZ, so I'm hoping it will be a great show.
