Home Tourney. All start with 2500 in chips blinds start at 25/50 move up every half hour or when someone figures out it has been 45 minutes since the last time they went up.

At this time I am at about 3500 villian has 2300.

Blinds at this time are 75/150. I pick up AA on the button. One MP calls and I raise to 500. BB calls and MP folds.

Flop come K icon_suit_club.gif 9 icon_suit_heart.gif 10 icon_suit_heart.gif The BB Immediately pushes all in.

Decision time....

Call. If he called your raise with QJ, then at least you know he calls raises with QJ and you'll still have 1200 in chips with blinds at 75/150 to catch him a little later. Same goes with something like KT or K9. you're ahead of anything else. If he makes a heart draw, then so be it.

Call.

Yeah see I called I kinda felt I was walking into two pair or a flush draw so I called and yes it was two pair.

It was more for me to remember that over time I will make money with that call.

Thanks for the responses

Call. Already saw your response, but still call. At my home game at least this could be anything from 2 pair down to a complete bluff, and usually it's one pair or a flush draw.

These are pretty exciting answers without knowing how many people are left and what the payouts are like.

good luck.

7 people left out of a 10 man tourney.

3rd = Buy In Back
2nd = 2X the Buy In
1st = 7X the Buy in

Profit:
3rd: 0

After he shows 2 pair (you didn't say which 2, but let's assume K9), feel free to berate him for being a bad player, and then go into a Hellmuth tirade about how they're trying to give you their money. smile.gif

Yes this is similar to the payout structure at my home game. Often I have to talk everybody into NOT doing winner-takes-all (we are usually at least 6-handed). For some reason dudes who don't play a lot think that it should be all or nothing.
dapokerbum
It's funny because when we first started playing that tournament the host thought it best for winner take all which we did for the first few months I played it. Finally I talked them into at least paying a second place and only last month after playing this game for over two years we put up the third place prize money. we usually have between 8-14 players so the prize structure is determined by the number of players. But yeah 10 handed or less it is really top heavy.
