Unfortunately, I do think the Mavs will beat the Suns, probably in six or seven. However, I'd wait on betting on this series until we see how healthy Kurt Thomas really is. He could be a huge factor in the series if he can give the Suns 20-25 minutes a game, because he's the best defender the Suns have for Nowitzki.

I love the Suns but I gotta take the Mavs in 6 or 7. Gonna be a good series.

If the Suns can keep the game at a high pace, they can beat anyone. The Mavericks strategy against the Spurs could blow up in their face if they try it against the Suns (two fast gaurds as starters). That being said, the Mavs are the clear favourites.

If the Mavs are the real championship contender we think they are, they should beat the Suns pretty easily. If the Suns win this series, it would be a major upset. The Mavs just beat the Spurs in game 7 on the road. Thats a big statement.
I'm picking the Mavs in 6. I think the Suns might be able to win two games only because the pace of the game could empasize their greatest strength.
The series should feature extremely high scoring games, but I dont think the games will be that close. The Pistons/Heat series will be much better.

Agree on Mavs in 6, but I think there could be a lot of entertainment value in the series. I like watching both those teams play.

I'm sorry but that is hilarious. Mavs are exhausted after OT win ? The Suns played a later game than Dallas, and Dallas did not travel last night to play.

OK, OK i cant take credit for the quote. here is my source:

An exhausting win, does not mean the Mavs are exhausted two days later, and quit taking advice from columns, as a sports fan, you are obligated to forming your own view/opinion. Otherwise you should be reading Glamour..tough guy

That was great. True, where are LeBron and Kobe right now and where is Nash? Couple of big shots down the stretch put them in position.

I guess last game made the case for the Mavs improved defense. Holding the Suns to 88 is awsome (especially for the Mavs). How many times were the Suns held below 90 this season?
The Mavs have shown more than what I thought they had. They can play defense and their offense is very verisitile. They can play slow or uptempo. Even agianst a strong interior team like the Spurs, the Mavs showed they could bang down low. I'm having a hard time coming up with a weakness for them.
And I'm impressed with Avery Johnson as a head coach. He's made good adjustments in every series and he gets the team follow whatever strategy he comes up with 100%. He's basically trying to copy the Phil Jacksons strategy from the first round except the Mavs actually have an offense. I dont know how the Suns are going to counter this.

Every time Dirk Nowitzki travels and it isn't called, I die a little on the inside. There were five of those incidents in Game 3.
That said, Dallas outplayed Phoenix in every facet of the game last night, and probably should have won by more than they did. The Suns need Raja Bell to play Game 4, no question, if he's remotely able to go. Kurt Thomas should probably see some minutes too, but I doubt that a little more.
Dallas is clearly the superior half-court team, and unless the Suns generate some steals/blocks on defense, they will lose Game 4 at home and this series. Even if they win tomorrow, it seems like they'll need to win Game 7 in Dallas to advance to the NBA Finals.

Perhaps you should send David Stern a video high lighting all five of these missed calls

Dirk was a monster tonight, plain and simple. He won't shoot that well again from the field in Game 6, but he also won't have a performance like Game 4. Look for the Suns to play well at home on Saturday, but the finale in Dallas will be a hell of a challenge to pull off. Smart money still says the Mavericks move on to the finals.
On a side note, can we please get some officials who can keep up with the pace and don't call this game like it's Detroit-Miami? Way too many fouls on both teams, considering they're supposedly not all that physical. That was even worse than Game 1. The Suns being completely outplayed was painful enough to watch without a series of idiotic calls on top of it.
