No real topic, so feel free to discuss anything that puzzles you, such as the concept of infinity, why people like different kinds of music or why your Dad ignored you as a child. it's all good...

Do you need a hug?

I find it hard to understand how anyone can _love_ cauliflower. My sister does, and it just seems that it is a vegetable that you can either like a little, or dislike a little. I mean, there is nothing there to feel strongly about. I'm talking boiled cauliflower, no sauce or anything. Maybe some salt.

I find it tastes a little like corn.

MasterLJ, no, don't need a hug, but I wouldn't say no if one came my way, especially from a big titty girlie.

How could someone not really know what a Tivo is?

Here in the UK Tivo isn't really a big thing at all. I don't know anyone that has it. In fact I'm still living back in the stone ages, recording onto video tapes.

It's possible. Ultimately, I'm not a huge TV watcher, so I don't really pay attention to innovations like TIVO and such. I'd have to say that, prior to my blunder, I had never visited the Television forum, so I had no idea how big a deal it was. That being said, it was certainly a lapse in judgement on my part, clearly forgetting about time zones and such, as well as TIVO. I any case, it was, by no means, a malicious revelation and I consider my lesson learned. I reserve the right to laugh about it and/or tell people who keep playing that card to **** off and die.

Love, Mercury69

Thanks, Lady Grey, for the unintentional support. Not everyone "knows" about TIVO, nor can everyone afford it. ****ing elitist pigs (sw).

My question is, why does eating asperagus make some people's pee smell, and other people's not?

Mine doesn't smell after I eat it...

ooooh...maybe I'm like an Xmen and this is my special power

Wow, that's a lame power. I guess I'd have to go to the remedial classes at Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

That kinda sucks. I guess I could get my revenge on Iceman for stealing my girl by eating a bunch of asperagus and then peeing on him...

but I guess he'd just freeze it huh?

Oh they find TV so appauling that even the idea of TiVo makes them sick ( Me!)
Mercury69
I like the idea of TIVO, it's just that I don't know much about it. You can program it to "record" shows and play them when you want and you don't need a VCR, right? See, I'm a modern guy.

My dad was a caring dad but he was always drunk. I remember him driving home after we went fishing. I was 6 or 7 and scared because he was too drunk to drive. I finally said something to him. He got pissed and took his hands off the wheel and told me to drive.

I was more scared then.

Another one

I remember when I was watching tV and my dad came out of his room. To come watch TV with me? No, he walked past me into the garage and peed on a wall. I asked him what he was doing and he said he went to the bathroom.

he wasn't in the bathroom.

I remember my dad going totally off on my mom when I was 4. She cried and went out and sat in the wood paneled station wagon. (yes, seriously) I remember like it was yesterday that I put some butter on a piece of bread and brought it to her.

Isn't it weird as heck what we remember?

Actually you're not alone. My dad and my mom got divorced when I was real young so he was never around when I was younger. So he was a weekend dad and he had to drive from Malibu to the Inland Empire (this is in So-California) and he would blow me and my brother off all the time. One time, he actually had a friend drive him because he was too drunk to pick us up himself.

Some weekends he'd go off on the beach with his buddy and drink himself silly. Then come back and yell and me and my brother for wanting him to buy us a happy meal the next day.

If you need discounts on WalMart prices perhaps you should just wear plastic bags on your feet instead.

Honestly though, I'll probably try prostitution before resorting to the WalMart idea. I'm sure I could lift a nice pair of socks from a sleeping punter for you though.

Well, right now I'm wearing shoes made from shoe boxes so I'm looking to upgrade.

You and your crazy British slang. I had to look up "punter" on Wikipedia to find out what that word means in that context. By all means swipe me some socks though. I'm not one to turn down free footwear.

I didn't think 'punter' was British slang but Wiki knows best as usual. I'm guessing you're familiar with 'wanker', 'bollocks' and 'tosser' though, right? They're probably the most commonly used slangwords in the UK.

Ok, that made me laugh.

Interesting factoid - for a long time people thought that only some people's pee smelled post-asparagus. Now, however, it is known that virtually everyone's pee smells funny post-asparagus, but it is more rare to be able to smell that particular scent.

So your superpower is really actually more likely a lack of a scent gene. Isn't that cool???
