I just traded for Liriano in my salary cap dynasty league (16 teams). I'm a little shocked as I feel he's one of those players that you don't trade once you get your hands on them.

I gave up Lance Berkman, Felipe Lopez and Casey Janssen for Liriano, Carlos Delgado and Mike Jacobs. I already own Delmon Young so I'm sitting in decent shape to stay around the top of the league for the next few years, but I'm going to be way over cap next year as I also own Manny Ramirez, Carlos Beltran, Roy Halladay, Pedro Martinez, Jason Schmidt, and now Delgado.

Once Lirano starts he will be good. He has a very good arm and can strikeout a lot of guys.

Yeah, he's in the rotation now replacing Silva. He started last Friday against the Brewers and treated them like the Royals. He owned them for 5 innings and was pulled due to pitch count restrictions.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but a lot of rookie "phenom" pitchers put up great numbers in their first year and then have bad second years, so that acquisition may not be very good for next year, but yes, eventually he will turn into a pretty good pitcher. For example, "King Felix," who everyone predicted was going to be a superstud this year has an ERA near 6...and there are many many other examples of this (Grienke, for one). Not saying "Liriano sucks" or anything retarded like that, but I don't know how much stock to put into rookie pitching numbers....once the league gets a scouting report on the guy things change a ton, and it then depends on how well that pitcher can adjust to hitter's adjustments.

Probably the worst trade in the past few years in all of baseball

Liriano, Nathan and Bonser (who is also starting for the Twins now) for AJ

Disaster for Sabean/Colletti and Giant Fans

Expect growing pains but Liriano has huge upside
