I'm a huge Mavs fan. It sucks that he is suspended, but after tonight, the whole Spurs team is going to feel like they got kicked in the nuts.

The NBA is completely random when it comes to fining people and suspending players. Image is everything. Percieved Bad Boys recieve more severe punishment then stars, and Stars recieve free passes for offenses that land other players on the suspended list.

Artest gets elbowed in the first quarter against San Antoini- Has to leave for stitches and nothing is done except a technical. Later in the game he inadvertently hits someone with an elbow and recieves a 1 game suspension. The player hit doesn't even recall being hit. But Artest is a bad guy, thus suspended.

The league office is a joke.

That being said- It is never ok to punch someone in the groin. And Terry is just one of many players who have missed games due to the nature of the NBA enforcement division.
