The reason I was so aggressive against the EP player is I have him pegged as a donating donk who has paid off everyone with draws that hit and has (since I have been observing) dropped $100! I figured second nuts was going to be good against the MP player as well so I didn't hold up with the aggression.

Any other thoughts? I wasn't certain about raising the flop there and didn't know how my jack would hold up without the heart.

This should be in the shorthanded forum, and you really really really need to convert your hands. Use the converter which I just used.

As for the hand, I raise preflop. The rest is totally standard...
You questioning the hand makes me worry though. If you're questioning your agression post flop AT ALL, then you're playing too passively in general.
Post some hands which you think are really really marginal, and we'll help you out with those. Specifically try looking for hands that you check or call a lot in and you think you maybe should have raised or bet somewhere.

cheers, I will do that, why do u raise pf in MP? cos it's short handed? the only time I query my aggression is the flop against 3 players, there's a plethora of KJ/AJ/TJ etc which can all be ahead at this point. turn onwards - no question! tongue.gif

An UTG limper in 5max is almost always going to have a terrible hand.
Getting the button with QJ is fine, as is isolating a player who certainly has an atrocious hand.
Also it's suited, so you don't mind a big pot as well if the people behind you call.

BTW, you should also raise this flop with J2o (if you accidentally limped it).
In shorthanded poker, people will often bet any pair or draw.

I play Short handed almost exclusively so believe me when I say I would be betting J2o if i had it in the hand - I would, however, not have it! tongue.gif

Then why were you uncertain with raising this flop? smile.gif

well I was playing slightly too high and it was simply the fact that 2 people had already entered to a raise. Just being cautious - overly! smile.gif

Raise preflop, rest is standard. Don't really think you can play it any other way......

Yeah...this hand seems really straight forward.

The only cause for concern is your cause for concern OP.

lol

nh sir

I was only really curious about the pf and flop play - I know tha majority of players are awful at these limits but I would not normally raise a QJ suited in NLHE out of position so I have to check these things!
TheCinciKid
I might consider raising this preflop, other than that it's perfect.

Yeah. I don't see how else to play it.
