This looks like it has the makings of being a good poker show. A few accomplished tournament pros in the mix (Pete Giordano, Kevin Cantwell) and they play against a few lesser known pros in a format similar to the Poker Superstars (without the superstars, of course.) Looks a lot better than the first season was because I think the players look a lot better and more interesting than last year. I like watching poker a lot more when all of the players are at least competent, which appears to be the case here. Also, since its the same pool of players playing each other week after week it'll be interesting to see how the pros adjust to the styles of the other players in the upcoming episodes.
Adam Schoenfeld does the commentary and he's hilarious. Why don't they put him on the WPT or WSOP?

Maybe it's just me, but I have a hard time watching a lot of these shows. The main commentator is the guy who does the UFC shows with that guy from Fear Factor, and he seems a little out of place talking about poker. Also, I don't know a whole lot about the format, but it seems like you get rewarded for team play rather than trying to win by yourself, but I could be wrong. All I know is that I was able to get through a couple of the Season 1 episodes, mainly because of JDags, but this season just seems totally pointless. I think I'd rather watch a King of Vegas marathon.

Well, i guess a lot of people arent really into watching poker on tv anymore, then all of this stuff must seem kind of boring.
Personally, I still like it, especially in a format like this where its good players (albeit lesser known) matching wits with a good blind structure for a whole season of shows. This way they are actually studying each other's play and making strategic adjustments from week to week like real poker pros at high limits do. Its not like watching the WSOP where its 5,000 people, many of them have no clue, going all in on draws because they've seen it on tv and not reacting to each others styles at all. Also, on the Boston v. NY show, the player interviews are mixed in after the big hands, so you hear the players talk through their strategy on each hand, better than the WSOP and WPT interviews which are just "I'm an architect from Utah, man winning $1 millionwould be great!" I just felt like with this show we (the audience) were privity to more of the strategy of the game than in the WSOP or WPT where we only see the allin suckouts that are made for mass-tv audiences.
I know what you mean about team play but I think most of the $ goes to the individual winners because the NY and Boston players were attacking each other as hard as they were the opposing "teams." I think I'm going to keep watching this one for a while.

Has this one started yet? I watched most of the last one and thought it was pretty good. Sometimes it did get a little tedious but overall i like the concept of BosVsNY. If the play is better, it will be more interesting this time around.

Episode 2 of this was great. Players are good (for the most part, the one girl Sara looks like she's not as experienced as the others) and personalities are interesting. Lots of exciting hands and good strategy discussion by the players and commentators.
Glad to see a NY guy won this week, even though he seems like a prick. I wanted Pete, the guy that came in second, to win. He played a solid game and seemed to know what he's talking about in the interviews. Too bad he took that bad beat at the end.
Any other opinions on these guys/this show?

I caught the show last week and i gotta agree that its pretty good so far. theres been some solid poker and some of the players are hilarious. its a nice change from the typical poker shows that have been popping up everywhere.
and yeah that blonde girl sucked - what was that all in with 10 J suited!! terrible! it was great when that tall guy flipped over aces. too bad he lost it all on that bad beat with AK.
im definitely watching again next week.

I know one of the players on the show, he says the guy with the wacky hair is as anti-social as he comes across on TV. Made an incredible laydown wiht the three 8's though versus that blonde girl (The blonde girl sucks, but at least nice to look at).
I could have auditioned but decided not too, especially because I don't like the blind format and structure. Why spend $2,500 just to get on TV when I can save that for side games @ the 'woods or at the WSOP in July?
But the prizes do seem cool.

Actually, the guy with the wierd hair isn't the one who folded the three 8's, it was the Asian guy. The guy with the wierd hair messed that hand up by not beting it out on the flop with tp pair and he let both of his opponents catch up to him.
Not surprised to hear he's anti-social. He seems like he thinks he's too cool for everyone else and I didn't get the impression that it was an act for tv.
Which guy do you know from the show? I've played with a lot of the NY team at the clubs here in the city.
