Bodog 8/16 LHE (6-handed)
Cobalt is BB w/ A

T

. UTG is LAG...but mostly on the turn and river. He likes to cold call pre-flop and loves to peel flops with nothing in order to try to steal later. MP is very LAG pre-flop (he open-raises and 3-bets a lot) and fairly LAG post-flop. Like UTG, he loves to peel flops with nothing.
Pre-flop:
UTG calls,
MP calls,
2 folds, Cobalt checks
Flop (4 SB): A

9

Cobalt bets,
1 fold,
MP raises,
Cobalt 3-bets,

MP raises,

I think I made a number of mistakes in this hand. Please chide me on them.

I'm raising this preflop. I think he would have raised hands like AK-A9, 99, QQ preflop. I c/r/c the turn, he can easily be getting crazy with ace rag. I might also consider b/c the river, but this might be a lil on the spewing side.

Raise preflop. You got the best ace, so exploit your equity edge.
Flop cap is cool.
I would go 3 on the turn. With you description I can imagine himh going wild there with any ace. 99 and QQ he would have raised preflop, just like any better ace. If he caps, c/c the river.
I think you missed some value in this hand.

I usually raise pf.
Flop looks good against this guy.
So does turn. I put him on a shitty *** hand that may fold if I 3-bet.
I check/raise/cap the river.

I agree with everything, but capping the river. If he 3-bets your check-raise you are usually beat.

I dont think so, given the way Cobalt played this hand its very hard to put him on a AT.
And what the **** is MP limping with after UTG limps? Cant be 99 or a strong ace.
So I Go with Screech.
check/raise/cap the river

Ah, he didn't raise preflop. You are probablly right although he could have made a donkey limp with AK. If he raised preflop I wouldn't cap though. That opens up a lot more stronger holdings that he could have. Right now, based on the fact that he didn't raise preflop I'd put him on a crazy bluff, a lower ace, or a flush draw.

I think I do need to raise here pre-flop. I've got a clear equity edge. I think the reason that I didn't was to make the post-flop decisions easier considering my villains' propensities to peel flops and try to steal pots in position.
As for post-flop play, there was this little voice in my head saying, "He would've raised AK/AQ/AJ/A9/99 pre-flop." Unfortunately, the wuss beat that voice down and kept me from check-raising the river.

I don't think your play was that bad at all.
I think a better play would be to add one more raise on the turn and then check the river if the turn gets capped.
Wouldn't beat yourself up about it though.

seriously, where do you guys keep finding 5/10+ games where you cap this river so easily?
i haven't been in a game where something like this was good so often to make that seem an obvious play in like a year.
