why do you all think it's fine?
Why is raisng the turn fine here, given flop and preflop?
lets assume there is no flush draw present.
How loose/aggressive are you assuming SB is here?
He 3-bet us after a preflop cap!
I think WE ARE LOOSE AGGRESSIVE.
please defend why this is ok.
thanks.
I'm rusty.
I'd prefer lettting SB keep the lead, maybe pop river if still safe board (as is)

I'm not raising the turn either.

I think you can still charge overcards on the turn, villain will get aggressive with any two, and I think 88 at that board is definatly a favourite against villains range.
Or to put it in Barry Greenstein words: 'Many players give up trying to figure out what aggressive players are doing and resort to checking and calling on every street. Succesvol players identify patterns and are able to make informed decisions about wheter to raise or fold'
I think this is a kind of situation where you can raise for value in the long term against villain.

so you assume villain is a maniac?
I'd raise turn/river if I had not gotten so much info about his hand already preflop and flop, given our read.
So it sounds like degrees of loose/aggressive we are assuming is different.

The OP describes the villain as a LAG/ Maniac, no?

well.. yeah...but I temper that.
I guess I assume LAG, but plays decent.
You don't like the turn raise either, so you must assume villain isn't just playing overs often enough right?
Or, like me, you'd just as soon let villain bluff river as well.

We capped preflop.
Yet he still bet/3-bet the flop and led out at the turn.
So yea the turn raise seems like spew. Even bad players wake up with hands.

I was probably biased by the river check, but i assumed by loose'agg he meant pretty poor as well.

I agree. There's no value in raising the turn.
