I recently tried to withdraw money from my account and i realized that I did not fill in proper information on my account when i registered because i thought that i could change my account information later. When i tried to email the royal vegas support, they said they want me to scan my driver licence to them for verification. is this normal? should i trust them and give them a copy of my driver licence?

I just did a quick google search on ...
"royal vegas" AND "drivers licence"
Looks like this is not uncommon. I cant personally vouch cause I never used Royal Vegas, but looks like several other forum threads on it including a 2+2 one.

a friend of mine scanned his driver's license and sent it to them. Supposedly he had to stay in frequent contact with an account manager named "Joseph P.," then one day he got a package and it exploded and blew off his head.
Just some of the consequences of trying to collect a rake-free bonus.

Royal Vegas is very picky about security..,. I think its for the best... If you try and withdraw they will hold it for 24 hours no matter what, to make sure you can have a chance to reverse it if someone unauthorized got to your account,.. Its a little slower, but I dont mind it for the added security.. I think you should be able to trust them, but its your call

You trusted them with your account information I would think your license is ok. And if someone hacked into your email and tried to withdraw your money you would be glad they did this.

I had that same issue with Bodog although for them it is a lot more difficult to get cash out...besides needed a driver id...u also needed another form of ID plus a picture of ur credit card and all...i guess its for security but i try to avoid sites that have those requirements

this is common practice among many sites. they will allow you to black out the license # and any other sensitive details. all they really want is your name, address and birthdate, which is information you were required to give them in order to sign up.

Yeah... not to mention the fact that by holding it there for 24 hours, they increase the chance of you cancelling and putting it right back into their rakes and tournament fees while they smile gleefully.
