the indians trade him to the reds because he is out of options, now he is tearing apart the National League. angry.gif It's still early, but he's always had a TON of talent, and it looks like he's finally putting it all together

The Indians did the same thing with Brian Giles and Sean Casey...both of them have had pretty good careers so far.

And Richie Sexson and Bartolo Colon and Dannys Baez and (to a lesser extent) Manny Ramirez and Albert Belle and Jim Thome...

Koop even you cant defend the Indians on this one. They have let far too many players go for little or no return in the last 10 (or so) years.

I'm not trying to defend them for the past ten years, I don't know everything about them, just saying that RIGHT NOW they have a lot of good young players, so their GM can't be doing too bad of a job right now. I'm not saying for the past ten years, just saying that this year and last year seem better.

Damn this is starting to sound like the 1994 Expos who had:

Marquis Grissom
Larry Walker
Rondell White
Cliff Floyd
Moises Alou
Pedro Martinez
Randy Johnson
John Wetteland
Jeff Fassero
Kirk Rueter
Mike Lansing

Shapiro has done a great job as gm, don't get me wrong. But my whole life, cleveland gets rid of someone they think is a bust and they end up as all stars. Oh well. Phillips even admitted his bad attitude is what kept him from playing everyday in cleveland. That was still an amazing trade: Sizemore, Phillips, and Lee for Bartolo Colon. Straight theivery.

Obvioux I see your point and its a good one, but I'm gonna get picky on you for once because it will probably be the only time I can do it to ya (haha). The Unit wasnt on the 94 Expos. He was traded in 89
wsox8
instead in 94 the expos had
Ken Hill 16-5 that year
Pedreo Martinez
Kirk Rueter
Jeff Fassero
John Wetteland
CLiff Floyd
Wil Cordero
Marquis Grissom
Moises Alou
Larry Walker

not bad...
