Just wondering what the correct play to do is when we raise preflop, get a bunch of callers, and completely miss the flop (.25/.50 limit)

socdave03 is dealt card_hearts_a.gif card_diamonds_q.gif in the big blind

Preflop

3 limpers, SB completes, socdave03 raises to .50, 3 limpers and SB call

Flop

card_clubs_7.gif card_spades_7.gif card_clubs_4.gif

SB checks, socdave03 ?

if this pot was heads up or maybe 3 handed I throw out a bet everytime, i just dont know what to do when I have 3 people behind me

bet it. If more than 2 call check the turn UI.

If raised I'd prolly just dump it, as you could be dead against a 7 or drawing to about 3 or 4 outs with your overs.

is this a standard bet on the flop no matter how many are in the pot?

A lot of the time it is.

Remember, when the board pairs, it means that there is LESS chance that your opponents hit it, thus a better chance that your hand is still good.

yeah i know that, i just figured that with that many callers preflop, someone was bound to have a pair, and that i was drawing to 6 outs. Is 6 outs still enough to have us bet at this profitably? (well it clearly is, how weak of a hand do we need to be on the line of betting out?)

and on this board you'll get lots of calls by worse hands like flush and straight draws.

There's only 5 cards that connected with this flop. Add to that the small chance of pocket pairs, and those are the only pairs o there.

Bet the flop, charge draws, and you have 6 outs to fall back on.

If you get a ton of callers, just check the turn.

ok this makes sense. i basically played the hand like a little girl, got lucky and hit an ace on the turn and at least made a couple of bets out of the hand. thanks for the advice

Folding to a raise sucks balls.

Unless someone has 7x or 44 we have 6 clean outs.

I agree. I am raising that flop with a pocket pair most of the time. If you fold to my raise you are folding incorrectly.

A or Q non club = definite checkraise

A or Q club is still a checkraise if its one bet back to us.
