2006 Draft Order

Royals #1 overall pick

More importantly, the Diamondbacks get to add another gem to their treasure trove of prospects with the 11th and 34th picks. Not too shabby.

I doubt Koop finds that more important than where the Royals pick, though. lol

There have been plenty of teams that don't have first round picks because of free agents they signed (in the case of the A's, I would assume Frank Thomas).

Over the last few years, the Giants have been notorious for giving up those picks. There's a whole free agent-draft pick system thing that is in place. You can look it up if you care.

I am well aware of the fact that there have been teams without first round picks...I was asking the guy what he meant by the statement.

really liking the fact that the Cardinals have 5 picks in the top 75. Should be able to get something out of that.

That was also my first thought, but it's actually Washington's pick (the Loaiza signing).
