I applogize if this seems ignorant to ask, but its a question that I want to have cleared up.
I was taught that Jews don't have the same belief in heaven as christians. In paticular, the idea that humans enter heaven (or hell) at death.
Heaven is God and the angels domain, and with the exception of one man mentioned in Genesis no human has or will enter it.
Is this true or untrue, any explanations appreated

This is an interesting question. I went to the following website and found this answer.
http://www.ahavasisraelgr.org/Heaven_and_Hell.htmJudaism does believe in heaven, and that we will go to heaven if we obey mitzvot. In a sense, one could say that if we have more good deeds than bad deeds, more mitzvot than sins, if the balance of the scale of the actions in our lives weighs towards the good (“basically good”), then we will go to heaven.

I also checked with a friend of mine who has studied Judaism and he tells me that the Orthodox Jew believes that when you die you remain in the grave awaiting the coming of the Messiah. When the Messiah comes you will be raised and rule with Him. So they believe in "Soul Sleep".

They also do not believe in Hell.
So does everyone go to Heaven no matter what then or what?

When I asked my friend what Jewish people believed about Hell, he told me that many sects to believe in it, however they believe that no Jewish person goes there.
They also believe in kind of a works-based faith - that if you do enough good in your life, you will not go to hell. They believe it is very important to live a righteous life for this reason.

suitedinc said that they don't believe in hell though. Doesn't that imply that even "bad" people don't go to hell then? Where else would they go?

we do not beleive in hell, or the catholic definition of a heaven, so to speak. We beleive we all go to an after life, and the more mitzvahs we fulfill during our time on earth, then the "better" (this is up for MUCH debate) our after life will be.
this is a 1 paragraph answer to a discusiion jewish scholars have had for thousands of year, so take it with a large grain of salt.

had this discussion with a friend of mine last night, who basically explained it to me as the following:
Jewish people believe in heaven, but not in hell. if you are good and faithful, you go to heaven, where you await the Messiah in the Garden of Eden.
If you are not so good, you do not go to hell, but basically wait outside the gates of the Garden of Eden for the Messiah. I guess its comparable to being in purgatory.
So when the Messiah comes we are all Saved, but those who were good get to wait for him inside some nicer digs.
