My son has invited me to go to Vegas with him for 3 days Apr 12-15 and I plan on taking the opportunity to play both some ring and tournaments at as low a limit as I can reasonably find. He has been there a few times before but plays mostly Black Jack, craps, etc so isn't sure where the best hold-em is. Can anyone tell me where to look for good games, buy-ins, etc during that April timeframe? ie is there some good websites giving reviews?

Another good site to look at is
http://www.allvegaspoker.com
There are cardroom reviews and trip reports that are at the very least interesting to read, and might answer your questions about where to play.
Good luck,

try the mirage for lower limit poker. The orleans is also good plus they have daily tournaments. 8)

The excalibur has a great 1-3 spread limit hold em game. It may be equivalent to the 2-4 limit games you see at Luxor, Orleans, or elsewhere. Downtown might have even lower limits.

Golden Nugget, Aladdin, and Orleans all offer 2/4 limit games. Mirage offers a 3/6 limit game. If you're looking for no-limit, I enjoyed the Manadalay $200 buy-in $2-5 game. many places also offer a game similar to this (Aladdin, Mirage, Bellagio)
There are also $25 buy-in tourneys at Mandalay and Luxor (at 10 am, I think). Blinds do increase quickly. Get there early to get a seat, though - registration starts 3 hours before the game. Golden nugget has a dily 11am tournament, and Orleans offers lots of low buy-in tourneys.

The Monte Carlo has a nice, but small room. Real cozy and a quality staff. Good location too if you're staying there. Right next to sports book, room elevators and lobby. Only about 11 tables though. No tourneys.

I like the Excalibur. The 1-3 game is full of people just learning. Be aware you are basically playing showdown, someone will call to the river. The 2-6 game is full of all types of players. Blinds are 1-2, but you can bet anywhere from 2 - 6 at anytime. This can get expensive compared to a normal 3-6 game. The no-limit is 1-2 blinds with a min/max buyin of $100. The game has mostly better players. At times you may have 2-3 people join the game that know each other and typically they do not know exactly how to play except to bet and raise often.
The Mandaly Bay has a good 4-8 game with very good players.
The Luxor has a 1-2 no limt with a $50 min/max buyin. I think this buyin is too small. Luxor also has a 1-4-8-8 game. You may bet 1-4 on the flop and 1-8 on the turn / river. A good game with good to better players. I think the Luxor also has a 1-3, but the seating may be limited to those you take their 'Poker Class', check with the podium.
Circus Circus has a 3-6 game, but I personally don't care for the poker room. Too small and too much smoke.
I have not played at the Mirage for a while, but I do like their room.
If you plan on playing a lot (average 5+ hours a day), sign in at the Podium and asked the manager to track your time. Almost all of the poker rooms can get you the casino rate for your room based on hours played.
Hope this helped.

Specifically, I am looking for a soft 3/6 game in vegas... I don't have much experience playing spread limit but feel against fish it'd be bet the max with good hands and bet the minimum with drawing hands. Since I am leaving for this tomorrow morning... quick responses would be awesome.
