I hit the final table on a short stack with t12k and blinds at 600/1200. I steal a few blinds right out of the gate and continue with my loose-aggressive play. The guy to my direct left has decided to play back at me occasionally but I stubbornly refuse to stop stealing his blinds.
The line between good LAG play and total idiot maniac can be very fine. I crossed it a few times in this part.

Full Version: Play A Tournament With Strategy
1. I like the push.
2. I like the raise. I love the continuation bet.
3. Luckbox, but you were undoubably ahead of like...A6 or A10 here.
4. Ew. I hate the 7 BBs raise, especially since it is over half your stack without it being the whole stack. I'll just pretend I didn't see this hand.
5. A sketchy way of playing it, but crucial when your goal here is to win a big pot and move up in the payout structure.
6. You have already shown a propensity for the UTG steal. You should have CB the flop, and folded to serious pressure.
7. I like this play. His bet of 9k and not 12k screams weakness. It completely kills his calling range.
8. Odd bet raises seem to get snapped off more than regular bet ones. Raise normal damnit.

11. See #7. The show is just mean.

I like it all except for hand 7, (KQs) on a 922 board. I don't like moving in on that flop because all pairs call, maybe even AK or AQ. Just such an innocuous board...
Also, some of your opponents' plays are astounding. The guy who limps with AK, then just calls (for half his stack) after you pop it preflop is gross. I don't know if you'd have folded K9s if he re-raised all in. I'm guessing not, so he would've arrived at the same result, but I still hate his play. And then the guy who calls your gigantor preflop re-raise in the last hand (again, for roughly half his stack) is just so bizarre to me.

I don't know why I was raising 9150. I can't recall doing it, but maybe I really did. I know I was getting re-raised semi-frequently and I wasn't really adjusting, just bullheadedly continuing to do it trying to get him to be more passive.
I said this in therrinn's discussion thread, but the crucial mistake I was making here is that I kept jamming and re-raising, effectively risking elimination when I had zero reason to take risks once I hit 60k or so. I was playing for first (wouldn't you if you hit a two-outer for a huge pot to go from critical short stack to healthy table bully?) but I took it way too far.
