Depends....DeJesus will get more a lot of hits and walks..but Francouer has a lot more power and will likely get more RBIs......so it really depends on what you need. I wouldn't call DeJesus a great fantasy player...but in actual baseball...DeJesus is pretty good.

DeJesus was signed to a long term contract for a relatively cheap price at the beginning of this year...DeJesus is going nowhere...especially not for Francoeur.

Looks like the umps decide to just try and hand the game to the Twins.
2-2 count, Twins runner on first, running on the pitch. Batter swings and foul tips it and our catcher juggles it and catches it. Foul tip strike three, right?? Apparently not, the umps make a bad call by ruling it just a foul ball..so the batter stays alive. Okay...bad call...fair enough..it happens..but oh wait, despite the umps ruling it a foul ball just a second ago, they NOW say the batter never made contact or something and now decide that the runner can stay at second base.....so the umpires are saying that the batter swung and missed with a 2-2 count, but DIDN'T strike out and the runner CAN advance...
.and then on the next pitch a double play ball is hit..except for the runner actually gets to go to third base now with one out recorded.
How f*ck retarded is that?? Buddy Bell went out to argue and wanted to check with other umpires...and for posing that question Bell is ejected and the home plate ump refuses to check with other umpires. Rediculous.
Luckily..the Royals were able to escape the jam...but wow. Unless I'm missing some important detail......that is flat our retarded.
Edit: Alright...apparentely the umps said they think the count was 2-1...despite it being a 2-2 count on the Gameday gametracker....wow. I don't know what is going on here now...pretty shady stuff. Either way..they let a guy steal a base on a foul ball. That's AT LEAST the extent of their wrongdoing....just horrible.

So....Royals take the series from the Twins....where are all those Royals-bashers now?? Where is the "countdown to history" about how we're going to set the record for losses?? Where is greatwhite and his army who proclaimed to turn this thread into a Royals-bashing thread? Where are all the jokes on ESPN?? Where is our spot at the bottom of the Power Rankings? Watch out Cubs, you guys are the next to be passed...even though we should already be ahead. Guess ESPN is a little slow in catching on to how good we're playing....
...huh, funny how all that stuff died down. Guess predicting us to be the worst team in the history of baseball was..oh, maybe a bit premature. I said at the beginning of the season that we were a significantly better team this year while waiting on some prospects to get here and get even better....and that's exactly what we are starting to see. We had an extremely rough start due to injuries and poor pitching, but it's starting to look a better...we'll see what happens the rest of the way.

Since he's been healthy...he's been a pretty good pitcher this year and tonight's effort was no different. Good starting pitching, good balanced offense, good defense..it works. Royals improve to 30-54..which is pretty amazing considering we were 16-47 a little while ago (14-7 since..pretty good). Mark Teahen 2 for 3 with a HR and a walk to continue him remarkable resurgence led the way in a pretty efficient game for our offense. Royals stay hot..hopefully we can keep it up.

Awesome. Thanks, I'll keep this thread running as long as I possibly can.
Also, yeah..lol...what, you're saying wearing a KC hat isn't the trendy thing to do?? Everyone always says "oh, you must be a pretty sick man" when they find out I'm a Royals fan..but when we're good...all the suffering will be worth it. The organization is clearly on the way up.
Also, about Guiel, I am glad he is FINALLY going to get a chance to play at least somewhat regularly (for a while) in the big leagues. Also, I gotta disagree about him not playing well, I think he is a better player than Emil Brown and should've been our starting LF/4th OF all year. His batting average is never high but his OPS is now over .800...and he hits more HRs than Brown by a very significant margin and can get on base just as much and is WAY better defensively. Guiel isn't that good, but he's better than Brown in my book. I think if you look past his batting average and look at his OPS, you'll find that Guiel has hit well this year, hit well last year, and in 2003 with KC was our 3rd best hitter. Also, he CRUSHES AAA pitching....so I think he should've been in KC all year this year. But, he's not and getting a chance elsewhere, so I wish him the best of luck. It's not "devastating" that we don't have him anymore, but I think it's an example of Allard Baird's pretty poor personnel management in the past.

The Royals offense has been pretty hot since David DeJesus returned to our lineup about 35 or so games ago. Even though he only got on base once last night...his effect on our lineup has been huge. I believe we are scoring around 5.4 runs per game with him in the lineup and we don't have that much HR power, but we do have a lot of doubles. Don't look now, but Doug Mientkiewicz is starting to put together some decent numbers. Nothing great, especially considering he plays 1B, but he's been pretty solid this year. Him and Grudz and DeJesus and Teahen and Buck....all hitting well lately.

Esteban German SHOULD be our starting second basemen as soon as Grudz is traded..which could be and hopefully is soon. Esteban German is a GREAT hitter in terms of getting on base and his overall approach...but he has somehow been labeled a "defensive liability" by Buddy Bell because of his poor defense in the outfield...despite the fact that German had NEVER, NOT ONCE played outfield until Bell just randomly threw out there. German is a natural second baseman and has a great bat...he should be there once Grudz is gone..but knowing our retarded manager, he'll start Graffanino there everyday. This is ONE example of why Bell has been ATROCIOUS for us this year..despite the team getting hotter.
Also, put me at SS right now and I'm an improvement over DEAD TO ME (SS). He is the worst player in all of baseball. Not even close. Guaranteed.

Yeah..funny thing that all the Royals jokes have gone away a bit..huh?
We are by no means as good of a team as we've been recently....we're still a below-average team....but we are a lot better than the way we played for the first 30 games or so. Gotta remember that we had an awful lot of big injuries to start with...now that we got a couple real key guys back (as well as MacDougal returning after the AS Break...)...we're better....and definitely not the worst team in the league.
Oh yeah..and our future in terms of offense is extremely bright...even going to far as Dayton Moore saying he thinks we have the "best collection of young offensive potential" in baseball. I'm not sure if I'd go THAT far......but it's pretty good stuff we got coming up...we'll see how long it takes to develop. Dayton certainly knows the players a lot more than me though....so we'll see. I don't know if I'd call it "the best" because I don't know other systems as well...but remember the name Billy Butler. Royals getting routed in the series finale...so we'll have to settle with splitting the series, which I'm happy with. Toronto's a pretty good team...and we continue to play .500 ball just like we have over the past 44 or so games now.
In other news..the Futures Game is underway and though Alex Gordon struck out in his AB, Billy Butler cranked a HR to right-center field after working a nice at-bat to a 3-2 count...very impressive for a 20 year old in AA (who hopefully will be in AAA soon). Billy Butler is going to be one of the best hitters in baseball in 4-6 years....kid is sick with the stick..and reportedly getting noticably better in RF...which would be perfect...as we could then let Huber be a DH if he continues to struggle defensively at 1B...and could then move Teahen to 1B IF he continues to surge with the bat like he has....or holding onto Doug Mientkiewicz would be okay too...great defense..gets on base at a nice clip. Interesting second half of the season coming up for the Royals organization...lots of young players creating a lot of interesting dilemmas in KC.

Billy Butler named MVP of the Futures game....2nd year in a row that a Royals prospect has won it. (Justin Huber won it last year and led all of AA in batting, I do believe). Billy Butler ended up 2-2 with a HR, single, and 3 RBI and Alex Gordon also went 1-2 with an RBI single.

Don't listen to ESPN about Butler's defense and all that. What, they go and watch him play every game in Wichita?? Reports from people who actually know are that he is improving significantly in the outfield and does indeed have the arm to play a decent RF. He may never be a great outfielder defensively, but is Manny Ramirez?? Butler will be fine in RF..he's getting better and is only 20 years old.
Also, yeah, both MIGHT be on the roster in September....I'd say about a 50% chance now that Dayton is in charge..he seems to want the prospects to take their time..so we'll see.

Don't blame this one on the bullpen..blame it on DEAD TO ME (SS) and Emil Brown. Their ultra-sh*tty defense let in so many runs.....this loss all goes on them.
THAT'S IT EMIL, BACK TO THE 'DEAD TO ME' LIST YOU GO!!!!

We really should've won 3 games of this series...but alas, we have this certain shortstop on our team who decided to throw two of the games single handedly......oh well. Off to Boston.

yeah you guys had a chance to win them all.. I hope the WSox can get their **** together and sweep the crappy Tigers... We are playing pretty bad right now.. We could use Redman on our staff right now.. haha yeah we're that bad right now.
MacDougal is back? closing over Burgos?

Dear Kansas City,
Please defeat Boston this week. And if that is not possible, then please hit a couple of line drives to Curt Schilling and Jonathan Papelbon, preferrably in the head.
Or injure David Ortiz somehow.
Your Friends,
Toronto Blue Jay Fans.

Well..this was a four game series. In Saturday's game against Verlander we had no shot..but the first two games we should've won if we didn't have a retard for a shortstop.
Also, yeah, Mac is finally backed...two perfect innings in two games. Burgos now the setup man for now. Mac's only 29...so hopefully they'll make a pretty good combo for a few more years.

I've been looking forward to this upcoming series since this forum got going. I just wish we were playing the Royals when they were struggling mightily a while ago. Now they're playing decently and the Sox are struggling. Wonderful. Still, I'm looking for a sweep.

Glad to see Mac back in, I hope he stays healthy for a couple seasons.
heard earlier at the mrdannyg household:
mrdannyg (douchebaggedly referring to himself by his e-handle): "let's watch some baseball highlights. oh nevermind, its the tigers/royals, i bet the tigers won by about 11.
*after watching highlights of a 9-6 KC win*
roommateg: "i thought you said the royals were going to get killed?"
mrdannyg: "ummm, oops."
there you have it, proof of my foot in my mouth.

I'd be happy winning one of three...but we don't have to face Schilling..and I think we have a chance to score a good amount of runs this series....so we'll see. I think there's an outside shot of us winning the series, but probably not on the road. Good luck. You don't need it, but good luck.
Edit: My only regret is that we don't get to face Kyle Snyder either....it'd be great to pound him. How's he looked for you guys by the way..numbers don't look atrocious..but not good either.
Edit Edit: Okay..never mind, his ERA is over 10.00. Guess I shouldn't have said his numbers "weren't atrocious" without actually looking at the numbers....oh well.
