Also, I don't believe I am too optimistic about my Royals. I've been criticizing them almost non-stop on this thread...are you f*cking serious about that?? We won't set the record for losses. I believe our record last year was exactly the same as it is this year and then we picked it up a little bit. Also, we're actually seeing a lot of personell change now and that will continue, unlike last year, so there is still hope for winning more games than last year. Hernandez is gone and Affeldt has been demoted to the bullpen, and MacDougal will be back soon, and he's a good closer, and DeJesus is finally back, and Grienke will be back shortly.....so there's reason to think our team will keep improving....

Also, that article instantly loses ALL credibility by saying that Sanders has been a "bright spot" for us. Sanders has probably been THE most disappointing offensive player this year....thus, whoever wrote this clearly knows nothing about our team and our players....so it really doesn't matter what they say....also, I don't believe they mentioned how hard we've been hit by injury early on this year..so we'll get a bit better as we get healthier.

Thus, once again, we won't set the record for losses..I still think we have a decent shot at winning 60..which would be at least better than last year.

Sanders is the most disappointing to you? Really? I'd have figured Emil Brown, given his status on the list and substantial age difference to Sanders, who has to start wearing down eventually (and it seems like this may be the year).

But you finally get a bit of optimism with Baird being unceremoniously dropped today. Maybe some of those misguided AB decisions for certain players will disappear now.

Sanders is the most disappointing so far because I actually expected good things from him....and he has failed to deliver. I have NEVER expected anything from DEAD TO ME (LF) because his defense sucks, he doesn't hustle, and his approach at the plate sucks. Basically, he swings for a home run everytime and in big situations is almost guaranteed to strike out or hit a weak ground ball. He's gotten lucky at times and had a lot of bloop singles fall in this year so that his numbers actually look decent, but he just sucks overall. Aaron Guiel should be our 4th OF and DEAD TO ME (LF) should be gone....but alas, an .800 OPS and 25 HR potential in very irregular playing time I guess just isn't good enough to crack our roster.....

Hopefully with our new GM..things will change big-time in terms of personell. Moore is SUPPOSED to be a "bright young baseball mind" and coming from the Braves organization is obviously a bright spot, but I'll wait and see, as I really don't know much about him. Undoubtedly the best guy we could have gotten though, so we'll see what happens.

Not a chance. We had a very similar record at this point last year and didn't even come close...we'll have one good stretch that will clear us of that danger..and when we get a lot of prospects us in the later months we'll be a better team...so don't worry, we won't set any records.
