Who in the division are they better than? Only possibility is the Tigers really, except they aren't better than them. They have a chance, not a good one, of finishing ahead of the Tigers.

Royals have a lot more potential than people think. Just because ESPN doesn't write about it doesn't mean we don't have it. We're gonna beat out Detroit.

I'd say that's about right. In all seriousness the AL Central will be tough this year and Chicago, Cleveland, Minnesota, and Detroit have what it takes to finish over .500

no doubt KC i think. florida has some exciting players, but no one (except cabrera) who can put together anything near a win.

KC is winning 73 this year. I don't think Florida will be able to do that. So......KC. Lot of talent in KC is gonna keep on developing....everyone is gonna be surprised at all of our good players that "seemingly come from nowhere" in the next two years.......lol.

Also...remember the name Denny Bautista. By the time this year is over....he is gonna be very good.

From '04 to '05, Detroit, Milwaukee, Florida, Baltimore and Cincinnati all increased their payroll by at least 33%.

KC & Colorado both reduced their payrolls by at least 20%.

I only used the '04-'05 numbers because the '06 Opening Day rosters have not been made available.

I haven't seen the '06 numbers, but I hope they increased.
Last year KC ranked 30th out of 30 teams for total payroll ($36,881,000 vs '04's $ 47,609,000). Apologies if my math is off.

Oh, no, I didn't take it as a shot at the Royals. I was just unsure what you meant and why you brought it up...kinda out of the blue. But yeah, you're right...but this offseason we went up to about 48 million....and plans are to go higher next offseason if the right players are there...prlobably to 55 million or so..maybe even more.
