I think a good work-around would be to sychronize your blinking with the blinking of the cursor.

I'm all about thinking outside the box...

1. Secure a large caliber firearm
2. Secure the services of a very good attorney
3. Kill 1/3 of the people you work with. Start with your boss and the people you don't like.
4. Get arrested, do not give the nice officers a reason to turn your head into a canoe.
5. Have your attorney make your case that MS Word drove you to temporary insanity.
6. Blink a lot on the witness stand. Constantly.
7. Get acquitted.
8. Sue Microsoft for $47.8 million dollars and free rides on Bill Gates' 747.
9. Buy Windows XP.
10. Problem solved.
