Yeah...that's so funny that someone that plays for another team broke their nose. Man..I can't wait until Paul Konerko snaps his achilles tendon so that I can make fun of hit b*tch ***.

Seriously though....he was playing catch with someone and someone from BP probably just hit a ball and he didn't see it and it hit him while he wasn't really looking. That's just a blind guess.......but sh*t like that happens. Don't really see the "funny," part....

I didn't see it, but I certainly laughed when I heard it. The article said that he broke his nose playing catch. Koop, that's funny.

I'm sure the circumstances were more involved and the injury was unavoidable, but the idea that Posada just missed the ball and broke his nose will have me laughing at least for a couple days.

i dont laugh when most players get hurt, but seriously, hes just playing catch and he gets hit in the nose!

Uhh...I was under the impression that he was hit by a batted ball that he did not see WHILE playing catch......not that he just missed catching a ball and got hit by it. If he completely whiffed on a thrown ball by the same guy he was playing catch with..then that's different.

I gotta feel bad for the guy. I know its not the same thing but one day during practice my junior year I was catching while my coach hit infield practice. And our hotshot senior shortstop always threw knuckleballs back to me after he fielded the grounders. I caught all of them except for 1... I jumped up and it knuckled down WHAM right in the kisser for me. Luckily I didnt get any teeth knocked out.

The article I read suggested the latter, but I'm sure it's the former, which is decidely not nearly as funny.

Sorry I don't see the humor in this. Someone getting hurt isn't funny.

That's why I'm saying it's really not that funny. Being blindsided by the ball and being hit in the nose..not that funny. Being a professional baseball player and getting hit in the nose by a ball thrown at you as you are prepared to catch it....funny.

Adams, we're not on the same page. People getting hurt is often funny. It just depends on circumstances/long-term ramifications/how much time has passed since it happened.

that is a flat-out lie. someone getting kicked in the nerts for instance, is funny. serious injuries are very rarely funny (except if its like Hitler breaking his collarbone) but unserious injuries are often funny.

it looked to me like he was hit in the face by a ball that he wiffed on while playing catch, but if he was hit by a batted ball (which looked to be impossible because i thought he was behind the cage) then that is only KIND of funny, and thats just because its jorge posada.

Just got the story. He was playing catch next to some teammates who were also playing catch. Posada mistakenly tried to catch the wrong ball and in the process got hit by the ball his catch partner threw.

Final verdict: funny.
