It's for my quality management class. I am using GM as an example of a company that is not very agile. The fact that it takes them 4 years to turn an idea into a car makes it pretty tough to adjust to changes in society.
Now I need an example of an agile company that can adjust whenever demand changes...ideas?

actually dude, I guess for people who arent familiar with design, its ok to use GM.
but they have one of the largest design departments in the automotive industry, they hired an Italian female designer about 5 -6 years ago who has been the leader in the new shape that Cadillac has taken, and is the reason saturn is geting a face lift.
The new saturn sky has been a conept for about 7 years now, and its finally a reality because they have decided to kick it up a notch if they want to compete against all these europeans and japanese companies that put time and effort into design trends.

If by 600 people for 3 trainings, you mean 600 women for 3 "How do be a dirty slut and get away with it" sessions, and for a block schedule bid sheet, you mean how much you are going to charge me for the hot one's phone numbers, then I readily approve.

New designs quickly are fashion companies.
They set the market for the next style etc.. and are always changing.
The fastest product i ever designed from start to production was 3 months,
that was a lighting product, but as far as like trendy companies that stand out in the world. definately Nike, oakley, other companies that have new lines at least once a year etc.
Most companies even ones like burton snowboards, and nike, wil sometimes come to design firms like the one i work at, and get us to pump out new designs and have them ready for production within 6 months, because we'll handle everything including patent information on new innovations.

The stuff I work on is usually in production within weeks, and shipped within 3-4 months. I wish companies would understand that to properly design things the first time takes some extra time up front, but the companies we work for (a lot of military customers) want it now now now.
Thank you for the help.. I think that is enough school talk for now.

I am very drunk. This is the exact kind of thing I want. I just drank it while peeing, thinking to myself that the King of Beers was coming in and the Paupers of Beers were fleeing. Use South Park as an example of the other extreme. They do all their animation and voice work in house, so they are able to satirize events that are happening almost in real-time, as opposed to putting out a "Cheney shot a guy" cartoon 5 months down the road. I think they were able to put out the "Issac Hayes quit on us" episode less than 5 days after it happened.
