I have done very well the last two times I had played live before this (won a charity tournament for $500, and got 4th in that $230 up at TS) but I really need to get back into playing more live so I am sure to be acclimated to the speed or lack thereof as well as getting my reads and controlling what I am doing better.

Mount Morris is south of Rochester, which is further than TS for you. Rochester is slightly over 6 hours from Montreal.

I'm planning on hitting up TS again for the Super Satellites during the Classic, getting into that Championship event would be awesome. Not as awesome as if they were still running a 10k event, but still...

I am, depending on what someone else decides to do, looking at playing the 500, 1000, and 300 events on the second weekend. I will go out twice (Friday and Saturday) to play the satellites the weekend before, and will definitely hit the 300 event. nah, I've decided that I'm gonna get at least real clay chips, i.e. the Suites Cards chips being the cheapest, like $675 for 1000.
Ive got the obligatory 500 set of dice chips, but I'm very tired of those.
Basically, I play for fun, so I'm not really trying to make money here. But I want my game to be enjoyable asthetically, and nice chips are a big part of that.
God, after typing all this out, I've realized I'm a weirdo.
Those Paulson's are very nice looking, but I can't see myself spending a grand on poker chips, personally. My roommate bought a bunch of the cheap sets from a going out of business sale, and I think we have something on the order of 5000 chips that he spent $300 on. Personally, I'd spend the cash on a nice looking table, but that's just me.
Also, Paulson chips are sold individually, not in sets, so you wouldn't necessarily *have* to buy 1000 of them. I don't know how your home game goes, but I would imagine the $1 and $1000 chips wouldn't get *that* much use. Buy a ton of the $5, $25, $100 and $500 chips and you should be golden, then add to the set as needed.

I think the best place to buy them from what I've found is apache poker chips, and they offer 650 and 1000 chip sets that you can customize the amounts on, and they're cheaper (see: slightly cheaper) than if you bought just however many you needed.

I replied in one of the threads that the kid should go into politics, that was some impressive damage control. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if he hired a publicist to write that statement for him, I have an excellent flair for bullshit rhetoric and I couldn't have crafted that release.
I also agree with most of the assessments in Patrick's thread, he's sorry about getting caught, not about what he did. If he hadn't been caught, he'd still be doing it, and I think he was doing worse than just multi-accounting the big MTT's. 2 or 3 PC's on separate IP networks wouldn't be difficult to set up, and you could pwn the big buyin SNG's with a setup like that. His stats seemed pretty unbelievable when he posted them originally (something like a 75% cash rate at $500 or higher?) and now they're even more suspect.

It has been made fairly obvious that a lot of the dudes that he played with a lot had been doiung this as well, so is it possible that he saw a lot of other people doing this and that it immediately became ok in his mind?
Yeah, my girlfriend is a publicist and that definitely has the feel of a professionally-written press release. If he actually wrote it, I tip my cap to him. I couldn't write like that when I was 19 or however old he is. Basically, what ajs said.

Speaking of which, I saw Carlos Mencia at RIT a few months ago. Before the show, he had the guy (Josh) who starred in the "Du du du" awards on as his opening act. He told us he had participated in the Paralympics and then asked us if we knew what the difference between the paralympics and the special olympics was. The audience said no, and he said "We compete for medals, not ****ing hugs." I seriously felt a few drips come out.
