Sorry Illini fan, but its the BIG TEN. Like every year this decade. Don't even have a team in the sweet 16, go Iowa!

No way in hell would I support the Illini

And let's face it: it's just fun to say Salukis.
I'm disappointed they didn't make it to the Sweet 16 or beyond this year.
As for overrated conferences, the Big 10 certainly earns tournament honors...but the Pac-10 was pretty pathetic all season long. They need somebody like Washington to run deep in the tourney to get back some credibility.

What pisses me off is that Washington has a starter from Carbondale, IL (the home of Southern Illinois University) on their team. Makes me wonder how the hell the Saluki AD let him go all the way to Seattle.

You hate the Illini? I don't hate SIU.... I root for them when IL is out of games.. bah... and We (Illini) got ****ed over by the refs in the game vs. Washington. It was ridiculous..

Right, like last year when the Big Ten had 2 teams in the Final Four? Or in 2002 when Indiana went, or in 2001 when Michigan State went and Illinois should've gone as well but lost to Arizona in the most poorly officiated game in basketball history (Six Illini players fouled out, zero Arizona players fouled out), or in 2000 when Michigan State won it all and Wisconsin also made the Final Four?
Give me a ****ing break.

Big 10. Even though I'm a fan of Big 10 basketball, they had a bunch of good but not great teams, who basically beat each other up all season. Sometimes it toughens them up for a tourney run, this year it just wore them down.

Ya thats what they said about the Big East too. But 4 of the 16 are from the Big East, so we'll see how far they can make it.

No, the Big East is completely different this year. There were a few teams in the Big East where no matter if you played them at home or away, they were a relatively easy win. In the Big 10, there was absolutely no game that was an easy win. Even going to Penn St. or Northwestern were tough games. I don't believe that going into South Florida or even Louisville this year were "tough" games. The Big East had a few very good teams, most of who are through to the Sweet 16 this year.

Louisville wasn't great this year but far from an easy win. They layed an ass_kicking on Missouri State last night, which isn't a pushover either.

Sorry but that is completely wrong.
I'm assuming you are referring to the bottom 4 BE teams that did not make the conference tournament. St Johns beat Louisville when they were ranked #15, and beat #9 Pitt 4 days later. Depaul beat down Syracuse by 39 late in the year. South Florida beat #20 GTown late in the year for their only BE win and only lost to Nova by 3 and by 6 AT Syracuse. Providence maybe you could make that statement, but they played just about every team close.
There are no gimmies in the BE at all

how is the pac 10 NOT underrated? We've been dogged on all year and we've played terrific in the NCAA tournament against some tough competition. If not for the most ridiculously refereed game ever, we'd have 2 teams in the elite eight + Arizona nearly took down Villanova.

But they DIDN'T take down Villanova...nearly doesn't count. The Pac-10 is weak and two good teams doesn't make a whole conference great. Also forget refereeing, if a team is truly good then they can overcome a few bad calls.

Taking the number one team in the country right to the brink of elimination even with their whole team in foul trouble all game including five players fouling out and you're saying Washington isn't a truly good team?
UConn free throws: 47
Washington free throws: 23

But you're implying that every single one of those foul shots that UCONN took were from bad calls. Yeah there were a few bad calls, but not enough to sway the entire game. Washington didn't play the most disciplined of games. If they committed a few less fouls then those bad calls become irrelevant. Washington is young and has a good coach, they will be back.

I don't know where you get that implication. If not for a "miraculous" shot at the end, Washington wins. To just dismiss them as not being a good team is a little silly.

The key was Roy getting that stupid technical foul early in the 2nd half - he had to sit with four fouls for a long time. The ref there has to give a warning as it's not like they were fighting, just doing some macho crap.
Aside from Anderson being Mr. Clutch - Jensen made a stupid foul on Williams allowing him to make a three point play. Without that foul, it's a four point lead and Anderson's 3 doesn't matter.
In the OT - the goaltending non-call was terrible. UW still had a shot when Appleby stole that ball but too bad (I don't know who it was) they threw it away.
I think that U-Conn had more talent for sure - but they can be sloppy and nonchalant with the ball.

Big ten was definately most overrated this year, But every year this decade??? Do you watch college basketball at all, i'm pretty sure big ten did easily hands down the best last year. 2 Teams in the final four, one team in the finals, and cant remember how many in the 16 but it was a good amount.
Anyway though you know who the most overrated number one is Duke hands down. Last 5 years there have been 5 times a #1 team lost in the sweet 16 and four of those belong to duke. They get more respect than they deserve.
