.25/.50 NL. I have $60, other player (SB) has $80.
I'm in the BB with 8-3. 3 players, including SB. I check.
Flop is K-8-3, rainbow. SB bets $2, I raise $8, they re-raise to $14.
I have no read on SB. Easy re-raise, or should I call?
You want to achieve 2 things here.
1. extract as much money as possible from hands you beat
2. lose as little as possible if your beat.
Easier said than done right?
Well going all in after he's reraise will do 2 things :
1. Make all the hands you are ahead of fold
2. You lose your whole stack if your already beat.
Therefore pushing here is the worst thing you can do. I would flat call the reraise and then play the pot from there in position.
I really think you are ahead. On this board with no draws out at all i must put him on a big king which he slowplayed preflop hoping to suck someone in if he hits. A set does not reraise you here on this board so you can count 88 or 33 out. I really think he has AK or KQ and believe he has the best hand.
Your best play is to call him down and let him do all the betting. If a big card falls on turn or river you will need to decide if he has now made 2 bigger pair.
This imo is the best way to play it as you will extract full value from hands you beat, with the possibility of saving some money if your beat. Also you may force QQ or JJ to keep firing at you if all you do is flat call the flop. Eiether way, i dont see you getting away from this hand unless a A, K or Q hits the board.
