I know it is marginal. Is this an easy lay down? I figured someone could easily have AQ and I'm drawing to a 3 out chop... I'm behind to AK (or any king, but getting the right odds), and my EV goes WAY down if someone else has a Q. I put it in a poker calculater, and as it turned out I was getting just above even money (33.3%).

You don't even have clean outs to your draw. I think you played it fine.

If you had Q :icon_suit_heart: j :icon_suit_heart: to a K :icon_suit_heart: 10 :icon_suit_heart: J :icon_suit_club: board, then it'd be different.

Meh.

I'm indifferent.

You're getting just slightly better than 2.25-1 on your money. If this is a live 1/2 game, I'm calling, since I hold one of the hearts, I figure another J to probably be good. Ah and 9h are probably no good, though.

As for your exact situation, I'm probably folding--I can get myself in better positions. Try not to be results oriented. You need about 3-1 with an OESD/Pair hand. Good luck.

BTW, your preflop raise is absolutely awful. Raise to 2(1.5 if no limper), fold, or call. These are your only options. Min-raising preflop in that situation is horrendous.

I agree with this...except for...wasn't Hero in the big blind and he called the min-raise??? That's what I'm reading anyways. Other than that..I agree with this.

Whoops. I saw the name in red and assumed that was him. That's fine then. I'll edit my post.

I like the laydown; as you said in your original post, your opponents are likely holding some of your outs, and you may be drawing just to a split.

By the way....you lose your "solid" credentials when you minraise.

Yes.. when someone pushes $12 and change into a $3 pot its ins;t worth it to call unless you have the nuts witha flop like that...

All great advice so far.

At best you have 10 clean outs to win the pot. (8 straight outs and 2 more jacks to give you trips)
At worst you are drawing dead.

Easy fold. Well done.
