koop, you're pimping the chiefs way too much. one post you say trent green is one of the most underrated qbs in the league, next post you say he's immobile with weak knees.
that's exactly what you want to put your hopes on.
he's getting old, and who's the qb for the future? is todd collins still the backup qb?
not saying they won't be good, but LJ being the best rb of all time because he was on pace to break a record? even comparing him to LT right now is pretty ludicrous.
also, not a wise move to bash schottenheimer and his lack of postseason success...herm edwards hasn't been a postseason stud either...
as for my SB prediction...damn, not easy...
i'll go cincy/carolina. no reasoning behind it.
Trent Green IS one of the most underrated QBs in the league..and he IS immobile and has weak knees. He doesn't rush that well..only every once and a while when forced too...and he has a big history of knee problems. Remember, he was the guy hurt when Kurt Warner came into St. Louis and had his great run. Same thing for him in Washington before that..knee problems. However, b/c he is now behind the best O-line in football..he hardly ever takes a big hit. That was my point...that the O-line is so good. Because they are so good, Green gets to just stand in the pocket and throw all day..and thus, his numbers are very good and over the past 4-5 years...his numbers aren't worse than anybody but Peyton Manning...look them up, people will be surprised at how he just ALWAYS throws for 4000 yards.
And yeah, I do put my "hopes" on a great QB behind a great O-line that protects him nearly flawlessly.
Yeah..he is getting old, but he says that he has a good 3 years left in him, and behind that O-line, I believe him. He can't run around very well..but age has had no effect on his throwing arm...have you seen signs of him "getting old"??
For the future..we'll probably draft a QB next year...so I am not worried about that. Half the teams in the league at this point don't even have a starting QB to be confident about...so I'm not gonna get too worried right now about who our backup QB is for the next three years.
About LJ....uh..where did I say that he was the greatest RB of all time??? I believe that I said that IF he keeps going like he is going, then he WILL be the best RB in the league. Not of all time. If he plays a full year and rushes for 2200+ yards or something similar...I think it'll be safe to say that he will be pretty dominant. Also, I didn't say that LJ was already better than LT, I said that I can see LJ having a better year than LT b/c of LJ's potential and I think LT is coming off some injuries..right??? RB's usually don't stay dominant for long stretches of time, so perhaps LT's time has already passed, and maybe not, but LJ looked invincible last year and again, is rushing behind an incredible O-line. He'll have a big year.
Also..come on, Shitenheimer is LEGENDARY for his postseason failure. He is happy to have a winning record in the regular season, and that is it. Shitenheimer is 5-12 in the postseason with some pretty good teams..Edwards is 2-3 with the Jets......I'd say they are a little different in that respect.
