10/20 5-max, betonbet.

relevant reads: BB is a pretty good, but possibly overaggro player. i've stopped using pokertracker, to help me with live reads.

mcfoldy has k4h in sb.

3 folds, hero raises, BB reraises, hero calls.

flop: 4d 6h Js

hero checks, BB bets, hero raises, BB reraises, hero calls.

(i'll probably fold the turn UI.)

turn 4c. zing!

hero checks, BB bets, hero raises, BB calls.

river Ac. let's have some fun.

hero checks that oh-so-scary river, BB bets, hero raises, BB calls.

how often does this c/r work on the river? often enough to give er a go?

If he's over aggressive enough, he probably bets any river if he's checked to.

We only have to succeed half the time for a c/r to be profitable, and given that the villain is aggressive, I think this is likely to happen.

This doesn't consider the times that we lead and get to 3-bet though, which I think is also a possibility given villain's playing tendency. However, since we check/raised the turn, I think this puts a damper on the number of hands that villain would be frisky enough to raise the river with, so c/ring is better.

i complete this most of the time pre-flop.

if you think your hand is good, why don't you check/call the flop and c/r thet turn?
if hes a good player and he 3-bets us pre-flop, i am not check/raising this flop

I think it's ok given the player description. But I still usually bet.

Most players will take the free showdown after you check/raise the turn. You have shown a lot of strength, and they will be happy to show it down. Plus, they hate getting check/raised on both the turn and the river.

I think he only bets when he has AA/JJ, AJ, or Ax. He may also bet KK-QQ and some Jx hands for value, but I think this is rare given the strength you've shown. Also, he may decide to raise AJ, allowing you to 3-bet.

The river check is absolutely terrible.
