Could i have flat called the flop and then popped the turn to gain more FE?

Definately raising a blank river.

I don't really think you have the best hand here very often when he donks the turn, unless it is something he does very often.

I tend to fold the turn, but I'm always up for listening if I'm wrong here.

why?

We are almost never ahead here when he donks us on the turn. If I'm raising the turn, it's to see a free showdown. That is still a crappy play though. The beauty of the free showdown raise is when we have outs to improve, we pick up an extra bet by betting on the river when we hit, and checking behind with a hand we want to showdown.

We are beat so often here, I just give up on the turn. Betting, or raising the river just sucks.
