How to proceed:
- if you're not able to do a session review please let me know ASAP
- contact your partner via PM to exchange e-mail addresses
- play a session of 100-150 hands at your normal limit saving the hand history file
- if you use Poker Tracker and GT+/PAHUD please note any stats you have on particular villains when the session starts (you might want to take a screen shot to help)
- if you wish you can change your username with a search/replace to something anonymous
- if it's not obvious via the hand history file include the site and limits
- it may also be helpful to include a brief description of what table conditions you normally see (tables are typically loose passive with 5 to an unraises pot PF and passive post flop, etc)
- it may also be helpful to note your style of play and/or if there are any hands you particularly had difficulty with
- mail off your hand history and any notes to your partner
When you get a hand history to review:
- you can either read through the hand history in Word and intersperse your comments in a different color or put your comments in a separate file noting the hand number
- if you wish you can import the hand history into PT but be sure you're not basing comments on reads/data that wasn't available to the original hero
- go through the hands in the order they were played
- it's not necessary to comment on every hand or even every hand the hero played
- positive comments are welcomed as much as negative/suggestions
- when in doubt advise the hero to post the hand to the forum
- it's helpful (specially when not using PT) to read all hands at least PF and attempt to gain some idea of how particular villains are playing
- if you develop a particular read on a particular villain it'd be helpful to note it and how you came to that conclusion
- if at all possible please try to complete your review within a week and e-mail the comments back to your partner
I think that's about it. This is new to all of us so we're learning as we go. Anticipate learning as much by doing the reviews as by reading someone's comments on your session. If you wanted to participate and I missed you, I'm sorry but if this works we'll do it again.
