Brilliant! my points that have been sitting and accumulating will not have gone to waste. My querie is to all fcp members and admin concerning the pricing of the store. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe there was to be a 1pt=1cent corrolation to determine the pricing, so that 100 points would equal $1 in relation to the real cost of items.

I have compared the requested points for almost every item in the fcp store to their identical version at flopgear.com and have found that this ratio didn't hold. For instance, all but one of the hats in the FCP store are listed at 2,524 points, whereas the same hat at flopgear is $16.99. If the 1pt=1c ratio were in effect the points would be 1699 for this item. Does the increase account for some free shipping offer or lack of sales tax?

Hi Violaman, all the prices with points are total prices including all shipping costs etc.

Eh.. I don't really buy it.

I can get 2 decks of copags for $14.95 online, with shipping, it comes to about $18. At a penny per point, the decks are $17.74 and there is no volume discount for shipping.

I'm personally not bothered by the incongruity here, but I could see why others would be bothered. Shipping shouldn't be included in the item price, but people would probably complain if they had just enough points to get an item, but not the shipping. What can you do?

Dudes, you might get 1pt for every cent you rake, but that doesn't mean that they will give you merchandise that is worth 1 cent for every 1pt you pay, that wpuld in the long run make it hard for them to make money...

Yawn. I believe it was before the store opened, the exact quote either on the website near the link to the then nonexistant store or one of the official e-mailers said that this was the case.

Most of the items aren't very far from this conversion rate. You get far less than one point for every cent raked.

You're awarded 1 FCP point for every $0.10 in rake that you contribute or tournament fees that you pay.

With the FCP store the items have been priced in points that 1 point = $.01 in the store keeping in mind that the price in points includes all the shipping, handling and taxes as well.

lmao.. 5429 points equel to 54,29$ for a deck of Copaq cards.. Thats funny since they cost about 20 bucks anywhere else. I guess the extra 34$ is to cover the shipping ?!
dna4ever
for a minute I thought this thread was about people bitching because fcp is giving them 'free' stuff

A deck of copag cards are 1774 points for a Canadian as an example. The prices in the store are based on 3 different areas. Canada, The United States and the rest of the World.

The reality is that it's very expensive to ship things from North America to places like Europe and Australia and that's why all the items will be more expensive to those outside of N. America. If the shipping costs prove to be less than we're estimating overall then the prices will be reduced in the future.

If you don't want to use your points in the store you'll be able to use them in the future for things such as tournament entries.

Wow, where'd you get that price?

Also, it's $20 for 2 decks when you buy them elsewhere, not 1.

You should recheck the FCP Store as well. Many new items have been added including 2 packs of Copag cards along with a lot of books and DVD's.

My only question is about including the shipping in the
point price of every item.

If I buy a hat, shirt and deck of cards, it's not like you
will ship me 3 separate boxes, so why am I paying shipping
3 separate times?

I understand having to pay the total shipping, and that's fine,
but to pay the shipping on everything individually isn't right.

I was really disappointed by the initial offerings but the new items look great. I loaded up my cart with about 35000 points worth of stuff but when I go to check out, I get an error:

Unable to complete transaction. Please contact us for assistance.

Anyone else get this? Or maybe I should ask if anyone has successfully placed an order? I have contacted support, btw. Just seeing if this is something on my end (I use a mac, so it may be a problem with the ASP and safari).

Hi bdc, it's not just shipping. It's taxes as well. PST and GST for us in Ontario.

Hi swiftD, you can also PM Gov here at the site. He's been involved in the technical aspects of setting up the Store and would like to know about any technical errors.

Yes, there have been many successful orders that have gone through.

I hear what you're saying, and I appreciate that you are so on top of
the questions in this forum.

That said, I still disagree with the policy as far as including shipping
in the prices, but it's not like it'll stop me from ordering stuff.
I'd honestly rather you just shipped it COD so that I could pay the UPS
guy at the door, thereby making the product cheaper, but I'm sure there
would be issues there as well..

I would think that you would want to give some incentive to people to
"save up" and order all the stuff they want at once, instead of ordering
a deck of cards one day and a hat and shirt the next, but like I say,
I understand what you're saying.

Well, I tried ordering with Firefox, and everything worked fine. It must be a Safari issue.
