As many as you are comfortable with really...
Start with one and add another as you get comfortable and get reads at the newest table.
I don't use pokertracker so...i know for ppl that use pokertracker they just trust the numbers..

I just two table, but thats mostly because I have a laptop with a tiny screen. If I had a bigger monior i would 4 table. As Jordan said though go with what your comfortable with, start and 2 and as you get the hang of it add more. It also depends if your playing 6-max or ring games as 6-max is a lot more read dependent. GL

Five full NLHE tables is about the max for me at the moment. More than that and I start to get a little sloppy. I've played as many as 7 at a time, but it gets stressful...particularly if you pick up something like four premium hands at once. Often, you'll just have to fold marginally profitable hands that you would've played if you hadn't been multi-tabling.
Personally, I prefer playing a mix of games. I'll usually play a few NLHE cash games, a NLHE tournament, and then a random game or two of LHE, LCP, or PLO. Something along the lines of 3 tables on Bodog and 2 on another site.
I find that most limit games (particularly full ring) don't add as much stress to multi-tabling. If I start getting short-handed in one of the NLHE games (for example, late in a tournament), then I'll cut back on the tables so that I can have more time to concentrate.
