Check behind on the river is good?
Actuary
how pasive and how loose is he

Because its either:

Bet and get called by lots of pocket pairs
Or something like T9 icon_suit_heart.gif

or

bet and get called by A8

Would he bet/raise a better Ace on flop?
Would he have folded a 66 on the turn?

Easy fold if he raises (unless read is he's a nut job), so the you only have to be good 50% to bet, when he calls. He won't call with missed draws, which likely make up a decent proportion of his holdings now.

So, the looser he is, the more likely I am to bet.
If he's SUPER PASSIVE and not really loose, I may check, expecting a better Ace too often.

Check behind is good.

This will be a missed gut shot/flush draw too often for a bet to have any value, and you will lose often when called.

I like the check, too. Only plausible hand he calls down with (that you beat) is a missed draw... and he'll only call a river bet if he backed into a pair along the way.

I swear I'm getting better at this whole 'poker' thing.
