Just a general question. You are in co with 10 10 and the player to act before you raises. Do you re-raise or just call.

I believe in general this is a 3-bet. Nothing is automatic, though. Reads are always important.

I'm too lazy, so I quote.

if MP3 was first in, I'd often 3-bet 77 against 10% pfr's.
Cold calling HU with "just a mid pair" leaves you in awkward shape post flop, compared to the ease of palying post flop in pos, after 3-betting.

if multiway before Mp3 raises, then a 3-bet:
1. gives some fold equity
2. helps fold A-Jx behind you
3. may fold some Ax limpers hands, now facing 2 bets, making for some dead money
4. for value
5. disguises AK, JJ-AA.
6. Fun.

edit to add: I've specualted before that raising TT preflop is more importnat than raisng AA due to the neccessity to fold so many over cards. 3 betting is a powerful tool for this
