The game is a loose aggressive game with .25/.50 cent blinds.

The BB is a very smart, sound, and tight player, who knows what's going on more than the other donkeys who play this game.

I have about 60 in front of me, BB has about 70.

I'm on the button with: J icon_suit_heart.gif - T icon_suit_heart.gif .

Two limpers to me, and I raise to $2.

BB calls, the Limper calls.

Flop: 8 icon_suit_heart.gif - K icon_suit_heart.gif - A icon_suit_club.gif . Pot: $8

The BB leads out $2. Everyone folds to me, I decide to play it sneaky in case a Queen falls. I just call.

Turn: A icon_suit_heart.gif . Pot: $12

He checks, and now I come out and bet $10. He check raises me to $30.

Now what?

I could be completely dead if I was up against the queen high flush. I could be completely live if he had a smaller flush. I could be drawing to one out if he filled up. If he has an A-x, I'm in great shape.

He's a smart player and doesn't like to bluff big all that much. I debated for 4 minutes wether to push it, call it, or fold it.

I'm goin' to go against the norm in this post.

You said hes a smart and thinking opponent, and doesn't like to bluff with big bets.

This is what would be goin' through my head.

He bet out $2 in to a $8 pot (very weird bet, hes giving odds for a flush draw, some people like to play sets like this, along with draws) on a dangerous board, and I called, which a smart and thinking opponent might take as a drawing hand or a weak A or K.

Now the turn comes and the 3rd heart comes completing my flush, he checks, and I bet out $10. What could he put you on now? He MIGHT think you have a weak A, but would you really bet out on the board when the 3rd heart gets there? When he raises you he's basically telling you he has either the flush or the full house.

if you call his raise you are down to $28, and I don't see you throwing the hand away, at that point you have to go with your read, so I feel its all or nothing, after all if a low heart comes out, or the board pairs again, you might not get the rest of his money.

But should you go over the top or fold? I understand the flop bet he made looked like a draw, and hell it very well could be, but 88 is a likely holding for the BB in that position, I doubt with 2 pair on that flop you'd bet out 1/4 of the pot.

With all that said, I would have had to be in the game to make that fold, on a forum, even with the info you've supplied, I have to push. By what little I know of this smart player, he'd want to protect 2 pair (he realizes its a dangerous board, and should make you pay to see). With a set he could be goin' for your whole stack hoping he fills up when you hit the flush. Once again its unlikely, thats why I'd raise. I've made folds like that before, but only because the players that made the moves were very smart, and I knew they would have put me on the flush by the way I played the hand.

Wow, thats a long reply to simply say 'raise', but with an asterix I guess. If i was able to see the flow of the game, and watch your opponent play I might be advocating a fold here, but I simply can't. Fraps 4 real life please. O, he could also have AQ with the Qh.

Whatever the answer, I hope you played it right smile.gif.
