I quit dipping today and it absolutely sucks. I dont know if anyone out there has tried it. I'll keep ya posted on how im doing and any advice from anyone who has quit before would be helpful.

I'm scared that im going to get frustrated playing because when im playing on Empire, I usually have a dip in. This sucks.

I tried to quit smoking once but it made me want to strangle kittens.

Since I like kittens, I decided to keep smoking.

I've tried...it is so freakin hard. A can usually last me 2 days though. Good luck and tell me if you figure anything out!

Oh yeah I quit for like a day or two once by putting a wad of bubble gum in my lip...may work for you.

I dip constantly when I play poker. Keeps me alert and my roommate wont let me smoke in the apartment, even though he smokes too which sucks when it is negative 10 degrees outside. anyway, i went a long time without dipping for about 2 years. It sux, u will be pissed off and unlikeable for at least 2 - 3 weeks. My only advice is that u just make it through and the withdrawl will go away eventually. After that though, life is much better.

Yes. I've been waiting for this topic. I dip like mad. Maybe I'll snap a picture of my tin collection and post it some time. Of course I'll need to dig up this thread as I am far too lazy to do it now...

I'm not as much against chew, obviously, because, you know, it doesn't kill me when others use it.

I actually have a pinch of Apple Skoal in right now. I really need to quit also. 1) Because it's getting to be pretty darned expensive $6 a can and 2) I'm going to be a daddy for the first time in 4 months (figured that's the best reason to quit). It's definitly hard to quit, the longest I went was 3 weeks, then I had a crappy day at work and decided to pick up a can on my way home. My wife's always begging me to stop. I'm weird in the sense that chewing doesn't bother me but I absolutly hate cigaretts. I've never smoked anything my entire life, not even a cigar. Good luck I hope you pull it off.

I do not derp, but I play with people who do, most notably Jay. From a non-dip player, I appreciate the dipping at a table when the player could smoke instead. At a lot of home games, the air is dense with smoke, so dense that its almost unfair to the lot of us that don't smoke. Derpn' has the benefit of not affecting the players around you. So I say derp on good sirs! :clap: :bubblethanks: Think of me and the players around you the next time you pinch.

I quit a long time ago.

For the first two weeks I was incredibly irritable. I yelled at a tree for dropping a leaf.

After three or four weeks I was ok.

I started dipping when I was 9. By the time I was 27 I was dipping 2 cans a day. I started the day out by brushing my teeth, drinking a Mountain Dew (to get the flouride taste out of my mouth), put a dip in THEN get in the shower. I've now quit for about 6 years or so. It was by far the hardest thing I've ever done.

i dip in the shower too.... worst part by far tho is all of the spitters in my room... if they arent capped, they start to stink

I can honestly say I've never even considered dipping in the shower. I knew a guy that would fall asleep with a dip in. And of course he had half a tooth fall off. Do you think that got him to quit...NO CHANCE.

My bid to quit has already failed. I was really sick last week, so sick that I wasn't eating or anything. I thought that that would be a perfect time to quit seeing as how I went 5 days without one. Yeah that lasted all of one shift at work. Oh well I'll quit after I finish the can I just bought...yeah right.
